Yes he has looked impressive when it matters, But just like every USC QB, I think this one could be a total disappointment like others before him.

I also don't buy the hype on Rosen, but I think he is Supremely better than Sam Darnold.

But, Someone like Mason Rudolph, Jared Stidham, or Josh Allen may rise out of nowhere and claim the mantle of most sought after qb in 2018 that is currently held by Rosen or Darnold

As a UCLA fan/student I naturally hate SC, but I wouldn't call Carson Palmer a bust. He has had a pretty nice career for himself.

Anyways 2017 are very important seasons for both Rosen and Darnold; Rosen needs to have a great year in order to bounce back from a pretty awful and injury plagued 2016 season and Darnold needs to prove that 2016 wasn't just a fluke and that he is the real deal.

Also, USC QB's rarely leave early

So your call for nobody to buy the hype is because previous USC QBs have failed in the past?

To be fair, on this site it was only the Miami fans who were really adamant about it. A good majority of the fans here laughed them off.

I watched every game, every throw. As a Trojans fan I haven't seen anything like Darnold since Carson Palmer. I swear he can throw the ball anywhere on the field. He has this relentless nature to him, he can throw an INT and it has no impact on him whatsoever. He knows next time he's coming on the field he's scoring. He's 20 years old and he is already a leader. Everyone rally's around him, he has everyone respect. This is a big time prospect but hopefully he doesn't go pro in 2018.

I've watched a little bit of Darnold and that was as a redshirt freshman. He is still very rough around the edges but the talent is real. It was reported during the combine he was the guy all the scouts were chirping about. I've heard reports from people around the game a long time that just rave about him being a true blue-chip QB prospect. We all know USC has the history of hyped QB prospects after Matt Leinart in all the early mock drafts. But nobody has been talked about like this guy has by people that matter. Sam Darnold is different and actually deserves this acclaim. But people really have to understand how green this guy is and judge a redshirt sophomore accordingly this next season.

Repeat after me.....Josh Allen.

Dude is Pat Mahomes in a pro-style offense.

I could easily see him as first qb off the board next year

While his arm talent isn't quite as good, I could say the same about Darnold. You never know how things shake out but next years QB crop looks really good right now. It'll be interesting to see how taking number 1 reps might help/refine Darnold.
