Which undrafted rookies do you guys see making the roster? There's several guys that intrigue me this year: Cody Heimen, Lenzy Pipkins, Johnathon Calvin, Montay Crockett, David Talley, Geoff Gray.

Id rather see if they were willing to part with one of Zadarious Smith, Bronson Kaufusi, Kamalei Correa or Matt Judon for the right price. With Suggs, Bowser, Williams already on the roster no way they have room for all of them.

So then why trade when one of them will most likely be cut? Bear in mind that Kaufusi is coming off a pretty horrific injury as well...

Out of that group. I'd have to say Geoff Gray and Johnathan Calvin. I love Heiman's story, but I can't see him making the final 53. If he plays well, he can land on the practice squad. All of the others on this list are camp bodies.

Speaking of the Packers roster post-draft....

Positional spending from OTC
https://overthecap.com/positional-spending

Based on the current roster, here's where GB ranks in spending- by- position for the 2017 season

QB - 11
RB - 32
WR -1
TE- 19
OL -18
Offense - 6th ....(#4 in points scored in '16)

DL -20
LB - 6
S - 13
CB -26
Defense - 22nd ....( # 21 in points against in '16)
.

So they overachieved.

That is a very good value at QB.

Kinda interesting on how close that reflects how things played out. On another note, without the loss of Shields, defense spending would be #11 and CB spending would be #15. Though with that hypothetical, I doubt they sign House, so that'd change to #14 on defense and #20 on CB.

To me this shows where the team is youngest at as well. Those rookie contracts are treating some positions well in these terms. These rankings are going to be a lot different in a couple of years when some positions are in line for extensions and others are allowed to expire and walk.

That Cobb contract. I wouldn't even necessarily say it was a mistake because given the choice, I'd probably still sign him but he really hasn't given us return on value yet.

Ravens fan here.

Correa is at ILB and Kaufusi will have his hand in the dirt at DE.
Leaving Suggs, Judon, Bowser, Williams, Smith at OLB.

Pipkins getting some pub as the best of the UDFA CBs. He has a shot.

I like Heimen, but I don't think there will be many true ILBs on the roster.

I like Calvin as the 6th OLB.

As the only punter on the roster, Vogel is looking good. But, as we saw last year, this situation can change instantly.

Interesting they'd move Correa to ILB, but that doesn't surprise me given the way Baltimore has traditionally used their ILB's. Not surprised about Kaufusi as well; several of us were interested in having him as a hybrid DL/Elephant OLB.

what I wouldn't give to have the best CB in franchise history be named Lenzy Pipkins. One of the best DB names Ive seen next to Tebucky Jones

Still want to get another pass rusher. Still not satisfied with who we have behind Matthews and Perry. Thompson's refusal to sign any available corner with actual NFL experience last year in the thick of ten thousand injuries, especially when veterans literally volunteered to play for us, has me terrified about having a good secondary without a pass rush. One of them has already started getting injured before preseason. Can't take another year without a Super Bowl.

Not really considering all the high draft picks on cheap contracts

so which decent veteran CB was begging to play for the Packers after the season started. I guess I missed those articles.
