I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread to discuss wish list UDFA's and actual signings... thoughts from the gurus?

Jarron Jones DT/DE ND and Devonte Fields OLB Louisville intrigue me

Jarron Jones for sure is a great call. Peko is a stopgap at NT. Jones fell due to concerns about his motor. This would wake him up. Great spot to land.

Fields is another guy worth exploring as well. Can't ever have enough EDGE talent.

Others:

1. Connor Harris, ILB, Lindenwood, Heart of America (????) - We didn't address ILB - so time to go obscure player who may have something more, given the tiers got picked late. Connor Harris has a Chris Borland profile, but small school (where the heck is Lindenwood????) gives zero tape to really compare to D1 guys.

2. KD Cannon, WR, Baylor - we need a 3rd WR who is ready to play - Carlos Henderson could be that guy, but we should bring more guys, because the tape and scouting reports all say he needs time to develop the WR side of his skillset. If Elway wants speed - then meet KD Cannon, Baylor's WR, to be a boundary lid lifter. 4.4 wheels, insane vert, and very good production. Route running and high-pointing are issues, but if they weren't, he wouldn't be undrafted. Strictly a boundary guy, but DT and Sanders are comfortable in the slot when needed.

I know I'm forgetting some guys, but those are my 2, great start.

I know nothing about him.

MHR lists Soto in the 250's he is 282-290 playing weight. That's what happens when you are lazy and take info off of google. Rolling Eyes

Banderas wasn't invited to the Combine, and he missed his Pro Day due to injury. He is their MLB, so he's obviously a smart guy. Other than that...well, guess we'll see lol...

We've signed Deon Hollins from UCLA. He's an undersized but pretty talented edge rusher.

Soto (if he's 280-290) and Jarrett are big bodies.

Hollins, Banderas & Carter (S) are likely not just coming in for depth, but given we do need to fortify our ST's. We did lose Webster & Bibbs & Dekoda Watson on ST - Edebali was a NO ST ace, but we likely are looking to get 1-2 guys who can help bigtime on ST and provide depth somewhere.

Was the LB from Houston - Steven Taylor drafted? Did he sign anywhere? He'd be my #1 target.

Another Bruin coming to camp in CB Marcus Rios.

He won't be a factor but he has a great story. Almost lost his life several years ago to an extremely rare fungal infection that had killed 8 of the 12 people who had knowingly been diagnosed with it, was in the hospital for a month with no assurance he'd ever leave. Survived, came out a frail 130 pounds and had to work from the ground up to rebuild his body and return the next season. Tough kid who probably should have played more at UCLA.

I like the Tyrique Jarrett pick. He's HUGE. Be interesting to see if he can stick at NT.

Wasn't Kyle Peko undrafted last year?
