I'm slowly working my way down the UDFA/Tryout list.

-I have to say that Kalif Phillips has AWFUL tape. He's not very good. His very first highlight was of him falling to the ground at the line of scrimmage. Laughing also any time he goes into contact he nearly always falls backwards instead of forward. I'm very surprised we offered him an UDFA contract...I suppose no UDFA RB wanted to sign for us because we drafted 3 RBs and so this was the best we could get.

-Btw edge rushers Josh Letuigasenoa and Marquiz Edget are very good looking men. Ladies watch out. Laughing

-Raysean Pringle got very interesting tape, not as a CB but as a RB. The Packers have him listed as corner. On ESPN & nfldraftscout he's listed as a WR. He has decent athleticism as has good tape as a RB. There's definitely something for coaches to work with

- Brendon Clements, CB, Navy. He looks good. Reaaaal gooood. He was kicked off from the Navy team so he may not have any military commitments. I think he might be better off moving to safety, his size, ball skills and hard hitting is well suited there.

- Aaron Taylor is an interesting SS prospect. He likes to hit hard and has an excellent personality on the field.

-As far as I can tell we got room to add 3 tryout guys. I hope we can cut Phillips to make room for another tryout guy.

-I honestly think the Packers get their UDFA scouting from NFL Draft Diamond website. Nearly every single one of our prospects interviewed with them. Laughing

Alright let's count Christian Schneider first so we don't forget him. He isn't present at Rookie Mini Camp because UC-Davis runs on a quarters system. (1/1)

QB- Rodgers, Hundley, Callahan, Hill (4/5)
FB- Ripkowski, Kerridge (2/7)
RB- Monty, Williams, Jones, Mays, Philips (5/12)
TE- Bennett, Kendricks, Rodgers, Sandland, Peck (5/17)
WR- Nelson, Adams, Cobb, Janis, Davis, Yancey, Dupre, Allison, McCaffrey, Goodley, Clark, Crockett (12/29)
OL- Bakhtiari, Taylor, Linsley, J. Evans, Bulaga, Spriggs, Murphy, Patrick, Barclay, Amichia, Gray, Flores, T. Evans, Pankey, McCray (15/44)

DL- Daniels, Clark, Lowry, Jean-Francois, Guion, Adams, Price, Ringo, Lunsford (9/53)
OLB- Perry, Matthews, Fackrell, Biegel, Elliott, Gilbert, Calvin (7/60)
ILB- Ryan, Martinez, Thomas, Tripp, D. Mathews, Heiman (6/66)
CB- House, Randall, King, Rollins, Gunter, Hawkins, Rivers, Brown, Waters, Pipkins, Goodson (11/77)
S- Clinton-Dix, Burnett, Jones, Evans, Brice, Whitehead (6/83)

LS- Pepper, Hart (2/85)
P- Schum, Vogel (2/87)
K- Crosby (1/88]

2 Open Roster Spots unless they cut someone.

The Packers brought in 24 tryout players.

The 49ers brought in 56!!! Shocked Is there anything stopping us from inviting that many guys?

Btw has anybody heard anything yet about tryout players who made the 90 man roster?

Not yet.

I'm interested to see how many of the tryout players they sign. I'd guess 2-3 right now and then we'll see them add at least 1 more at some point in TC.

IMO 5 Players Most Likely to be Cut in Favor of a Tryout Player. (most likely to least likely)

Justin McCray (Same thing happened with Kowalski last year/ Packers currently have 16 OL if you count Schneider).
Derrick Mathews (Fringe NFL Player/ Green Bay already knows what they have here).
Antwan Goodley
Max McCaffrey
Kalif Philips

I hope we bring him to camp. He's another guy that went to A&M who was misused and undercoached. He has some off-the-field issues, but nothing compared to Fields apparently...

...and with Hyde and Michael both gone, we could use a RS...

Well.... this is not good. The forummers here are slacking Laughing

It been reported hours ago that the Packers has signed a couple of tryout guys.

William Stanback, RB and
Josh Letuilgasenoa, LB

As of right now that makes 85 players. If we sign our remaining draft picks then that will take us to the roster limit of 90.

I'm a little bit surprised that we chose Letuilgasenoa (btw thank you copy and paste function), if we wanted to add more EDGE rushers I wouldn't have chosen the smallest edge guy in the tryout group. He's only 6'1" and isn't particularly athletic judging from his 40 time.

Stanbeck isn't particularly surprising considering he was the only RB tryout and we needed more RB camp bodies.

Edit: just 10 seconds after posting this I discover that we actually signed FIVE tryout guys. Typical Laughing

Josh Letuligasenoa, LB
Raysean Pringle, CB
William Stanback, RB
David Talley, LB
Aaron Taylor, S

LS Taybor Pepper and WR Antwan Goodley are the ones cut to make room.

I'm glad to see Pringle making it. He was a RB in college and dabbled a bit of WR too but he's here to play corner. He has nice tape so he's an intriguing prospect.
