Weird draft, solid draft. It wasnt andy reid's draft where he makes some undersized picks. It also wasnt chip kelly's draft where he makes straight up dumb picks. I was bummed out about the first pick but the more i think about it, more i like it. Really like the CB picks but not a fan of the RB, dude's 1 hit away from being popped. I do like the fact that we didnt spend a high pick on a RB. RBs are a dime in a dozen, IMO

Solid B from me.

I feel pretty similar. Except watching Pumphrey, knowing how much hes produced and how long hes played, seems like one of those rare little guys that can take pops and just bounce right back up. I get the criticism though, cant fight it.

I grade our draft as a B I think we took care of our needs but like any draft we won't know how it'll turn out..

Barnett- I didn't really know how to feel about the pick because I really like Hooker n I think he would of helped our team immensely.. But Barnett allows us to keep rotating linemen.. Our pass rush is going to be amazing next year!

Jones- Top 15 talent happy to have him think he will bounce back and be a legit #1 corner.

Douglas- Great production will have to prove he can stick with NFL receivers if not he could be a safety..

Hollins- I love his special Team prowess and his ability to stretch the field and the fact he is 6'4" he's this years Slater or Osgood with a better chance to be a factor on offense..

Pumphery- I wanted a back that we could give 20 carries a game Pumphery reminds me of Meggett from longest yard you don't get 6400 yards on accident want to see what he looks like come preseason

Gibson- This was probably the most forecasted pick deep threat or a slot guy idk if he should stick but the Eagles are high on him don't see it personally.

Gerry- Love this pick think he is going to be a stud.. He needs to keep hitting the weight room hard n get up to 225-230 but we should keep Kendricks for insurance..

Qualls- Live the value had a 4-5 round grade on him he is stout against the run and athletic enough to push the pocket love our Dline depth

Same page. Wanted The Hookster but if we didnt get a DE, we would end up with Marcus Smith and Steven Means , Alex McCalister out there getting demolished for stretches at a time specially if anything happened to either Graham, Curry or Long. It could of gotten brutal with out taken Barnett.

I like that we as a group disregard all players with short arms now even though said player with short arms that started the hate became a pretty damn good player. Laughing

I'll say this for Cincy, if Oghebui and Fisher pan out at tackle, they have the makings of a potentially lethal offense.

Mixon, Bernard, and Hill out of the backfield with Eiffert, Green, Ross, and Boyd who I was high on last year. If their OL can keep Dalton clean he's going to be a fantasy.

I agree, but they've both looked horrendous so far.

Hence the word IF...

Regarding our draft
1) Barnett : B
Solid pick, I really like Barnett as a prospect, he plays with bend and some of the most violent hands I've seen in a while. Very Suggs like in his skill set. If he can add a spin move to counter his speed and bull rushes, he could be a long term building block.

2) Jones :B+
The only thing keeping this from being an A+ is the injury but if he gets back to 100% this could be the steal of the draft.

3) Rasul Douglas: B-
I thought there were better players on the board but Douglas has skills that could turn him into a long term starter. He's a playmaker which we could use more of in the back end and if he isn't quick enough for corner he could play S.

4) Mack Hopkins: B+
Hollins is a H-W-S specimen who already has a knack for stretching the field and has a considerable amount of upside. Even if he never hits that upside he provides immediate value as a special teams ace and a situational deep threat. I don't get the hate of this pick.

4) Donell Pumphreies: D
By far my least favorite pick. Sure he's uber productive but he's 176 pounds soaking wet with a dirty diaper. He's a gadget player and probably a Dexter McCluster type. We need a guy who could potentially play every down, Perine went right before us and Marlon Mack right after. That said he adds value as a gadget player and potentially on special teams, but I don't see him as much more than a poor mans Darren Sproles.

5) Gibson : B
Another deep threat with special teams ability.

5) Gerry : B+
Probably the most underrated pick. I think he's got a chance to supplant Kendricks as the starting WILL at some point this season. He's solid in zone coverage and can play the run as well as lay the wood. He's got to get bigger but otherwise he could be a player.

6)Qualls :B
Adds depth at DT

OVERALL : B

Ranking the picks:

Sidney Jones - The expected utility of this pick is off the chart. I love it as a calculated risk. It is especially apt when you consider the risks taken withing the division, ie Jaylon Smith, La'el Collins, etc.
Derek Barnett - Everybody says to take the BPA. He was it. At least in the eyes of most. Some people may have disagreed, but most of the detractors just had a boner for some RB.
Rasul Douglas - I was rooting for them to take Douglas here. So, I like it. But, aside from being predisposed to like it, I think he can play. He'll need some work. So will every CB taken around or after him.
Elijah Qualls - "Looks like Louie Anderson, plays like Jamal Anderson." I was asking for him starting in the 4th round. The Eagles look really strong up the middle with him added into the mix.
Mack Hollins - At the very least he will contribute on ST and make one of the other specialists (Magaros/Braman) expendable. If he develops into anything more it is a plus. Good value, niche pick.
Nathan Gerry - "Looks like Tarzan, bright like Tarzan." Instinctive, but reckless (more yellow flags than a Vatican-Niue soccer match). He does look like a kickoff cover guy, though.
Donnel Pumphrey - I don't see in him what is in guys like Westbrook and Sproles. I hope he proves me wrong. I preferred Matt Breida. NOTE: I liked the comparison to McCluster. Kudos.
Shelton Gibson - The Eagles already have half-a-dozen guys like him. A wasted pick.

All in all it was a pretty good draft.
I don't usually like the guys at the top as much.
The Eagles have been missing on those lately.
I think it is a solid B, nothing more, nothing less.

I really don't get why some people don't like our draft... I think we did really good. I would put it in the top 10 as the best one in the league. I think we addressed a lot of areas, and got really good value as well for the most part. There is always pick we don't like and disagree with, but overall its really solid IMO.

I think it wasnt very flashy but we got a lot of people who fit what we want to do and have upside. I agree with you. Also think Gibson n Douglas will be real good. Id go B+ if Sid ends up ok, A- if he ends up being real good.
