This is the only pick i dont really get. Understand the special team value, one of the top td scorers for UNC history and good YPC. But why was he only on the field 50 percent or less of snaps every year? are they limiting his play time because they know hes a great special team asset and needs to have some plays off? anyone have an idea there?

Because he's raw as a route runner and injury prone.

That said he's a H-W-S specimen with a ton of upside who already has special teams and downfield ability. If he doesn't develop he's still a valuable asset to the roster.

Literally a Hank Baskett clone. Awwwkward. Hopefully he puts on a little muscle- fine tunes his body and can serve on special teams and red zones early on.

He's the best player in the draft at special teams. Special teams matter bro.

We already had arguably the best ST in the league. What we really needed were actual good WR's to compliment Alshon, who's probably going to hate being triple covered and bolt after this season. We should have moved up a little in the 3rd and taken Chad Williams instead of Rasul Douglas, who will be playing safety in a year or two.

Don't sleep Hank rank 4.49-4.5 at the combine.

And he'd have to hope Marcus Johnson gets cut for that 84...

It will be different watching #10 on the field with Speed but @ 6'4" 210+!!!

I'm curious to know. I was never a fan of the Torrey Smith signing but it was clear they wanted a Downfield Deep Threat to add to the roster. With the drafting of Hollins and Gibson. Is Smith really needed? Are the eagles keeping 5 or 6 WR? We know baring an unforeseen trade 4 then what? If Hollins who also has Speed can overtake Smith or God forbid DGB lives up to his potential, that's a massive Basketball type WR Corps.

Alshon 6'3" 218
Matthews 6'3" 212
Smith 6'0 205
Hollins 6'4 210

Then what?
Agholor 6'0 198
DGB 6'5 237

Treggs 6'0 185
Turner 5'10" 193
Gibson 6'0 198
Watford 6'2 210
Williams 6'2 200
Johnson 6'1" 210

Was just googling Mack Hollins, when I found this site.

https://www.playerprofiler.com

Not sure how credible this is, but they have a speed score in there, which they say is extraordinary from 110 for big bodied WR.

Just to add some context.

Kenny Britt - 102.2
Alshon Jeffery - 105.4
Larry Fitzgerald - 106.4
AJ Green 107.1
Mack Hollins 109.3
Brandon Marshall - 114.7
Mike Evans 115.7
Demaryius Thomas - 124.4
Terrelle Pryor 128.3

Hollins supposedly getting a rave review from someone who saw him at the rookie camp, but take this report with a grain of salt as the "source" and their words are being reported by a current North Carolina assistant football coach and former North Carolina receiver.

Alshon Jeffery
Torrey Smith
Jordan Matthews
Dorial Green-Beckham
Nelson Agholor
Mack Hollins
Shelton Gibson

That's 7. I'm assuming the Eagles carry 6? Maybe 5? At least one has to go. I wonder who the odd man out will be.

Is DGB even in Howie's contact list anymore? He's as good as gone. Nelson maybe as well but I think his contract is cut prohibitive with the dead money hit. And Jordan can always be traded. Plenty of wiggle room with the WRs.

Don't forget we have the infamous injury and/or PS stash

We'll probably only carry 2 QBs or 9 OL to help with the extra RBs/WRs we may need to hold. ST and/or lack of depth

Watching some rookie minicamp clips, I will say I'm impressed with his ability in a couple drills to get out of his break without the throttle down.
