With the Mixon pick yesterday, is he a camp cut now?
I suppose we'll have to see if Bernard comes back healthy. But it would be hard to believe the team will carry three healthy RB's that don't play ST's. _________________ If you're not in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?

I don't think he'll be cut. They will go heavy at WR if anything. Bernard still is recovering from injury _________________

I doubt he gets cut honestly. They will still see value as a goalline back. If they want to cut him, they would need to draft another RB in this draft. _________________

No way. He will start for the first for the first 6 weeks, and still be the short yardage guy.
If no one throws big money at him in free agency, I can see him coming back as a role player if the coaches keep them all in the rotation. |

Hope so......
I've waited half my life for a play-off win against the Steelers. We have a narrow 16-15 lead v PIT, with a fumble recovery and 3 hand-offs to soak some clock up and the prospect of a FG for a 19-15 lead. We're a gnats cock away from getting our first play-off win in two decades plus. Some pride restored for the City of Cincinnati and Bengal fans everywhere.
Kyle Caskey leans over to #32; (a professional sportsman paid millions of dollars every year); and says "....here we go Jez, three runs right side, burn some clock, set up for a FG try; and whatever you do; DO NOT FUMBLE THE DAMN FOOTBALL"....... History writes itself. He didn't just fumble the ball; he has subjected us all to years and years of derision as Bengal fans
You tell me why he should still be on this team ?????? To me, he is more of a 'villain' than Mixon & Burfict are...... _________________ " Democracy is a system where two idiots can out-vote a genius..........." |

Absolutely no chance. With a healthy Bernard, I'd say there is a slim chance.
I really think Hill brings it this year. I'm sure the criticism Lapham had on him was also echoed by the coaching staff. Plus, he's in a contract year so he's going to be running his arse off for a new contract elsewhere. _________________

No, Mixon will take Burkhead's roster spot. Peerman and the kid from Houston will fight for the last RB/special teams spot. |

I think he'll be traded. You look at a team like the Eagles who didn't really address the RB position (at least not a bell cow back) and they seem like a prime target. Heck, maybe even the Jets in a swap for Sheldon Richardson (yes, I'm still pushing this).
As theJ stated we can't have 3 RBs on our roster who don't play ST (not talking about returning kicks but covering kicks). We'll have Mixon, Gio, Peerman, and Wilson. With the last 2 playing heavily on ST. People are forgetting that Burkhead played a lot of ST and made several ST tackles. With him gone Wilson seems like a logical replacement for that role. And I don't see us keeping 5 RBs (6 if you include Hewitt)... |

I am so done with him.
I'd take a 7th rounder right now. Hell; I think I'd even pull an 'Osweiler', and give a team a free draft pick to take him. Burfict, Jones and all Bengal fans have taken all the heat from other fans and the media right after that game because of Hills' fumble. I'd be quite happy to give Tra Carson or one of those undrafted guys a shot.
I do however think the Bengals will keep him; let him walk after the season, and look for another comp pick in 2019. If you think we can carry a Gerald Riggs type non-ST's goal-line specialist back, then maybe he has a role; but he doesn't make my team I'm afraid. _________________ " Democracy is a system where two idiots can out-vote a genius..........." |

Add Detroit to that list as well. 11 picks and no running backs drafted.
Ameer Abdullah, Zach Zenner, and Theo Riddick are their only RBs. _________________

Yeah i maybe didn't stress that enough. I don't know how you keep 3 RB's that don't cover or block on kicks. I know ST's aren't sexy, but your bottom of the roster guys have to play it. Jeremy Hill is a bottom of the roster guy now.
The Bernard injury gives it a shadow of a doubt, but ultimately i think if they had to PUP him they'd roll with Mixon and whoever is the 4th RB they keep (assuming Peerman stays). _________________ If you're not in over your head, how do you know how tall you are?

Not really as I see it.
Wilson is flexible and good enough to challenge for the 9th or 10th DB spot, and contribute heavily on ST's. Wilsons' flexibility might mean we can go heavier @ OL, LB or DL this year
With all this speed they now have, Peerman and Hill could be on borrowed time.
Apart from the OL; this is going to be a very competitive camp IMO. _________________ " Democracy is a system where two idiots can out-vote a genius..........." |

With that much hate for Hill, I'm sure ESPN can find a spot for you on their NFL Live show. |
