Delanie Walker comparison by NFL.com, interestingly enough.

This was also the guy who got burned pretty badly after his girlfriend threw boiling water on him, if anyone remembers that story.

I remember that story. Hope he's recovered. Looks athletic. Hope he develops for us.

I guess I'm glad they went TE, but it's amazing how they haven't addressed some more defensive issues to draft 3 targets instead. Also there are other TEs I preferred to Smith, but obviously I could be wrong.

I like the pick I think we're going to play more faster next year & more to mariota strength. Less 2 TE formation, more 3 & 4 WR sets spreading the field. Last yr was a heavy defensive draft. This yr, we're going to give our QB more to work wit to take his game to the next level

There's not much highlights, film and breakdowns on him, so that means he's going to be the best of all our draft picks. Laughing

Upgrade over Supernaw and heir to Delanie.

I like it.

Pick Analysis: "Really solid football player ... Competes well enough. He's more of a move H-back, but he will block. He runs well, catches the football well, he's one of those guys that I don't think he has an elite physical trait, but he does everything pretty darn well." -- Mike Mayock

Was just coming to post that.....

Very explosive. You can see the Walker comparison.

Exciting prospect.

That quote from Mayock is kinda ironic because Smith posted top TE times in 4-5 different categories at the combine. Definitely plays like Delanie though.
