You don't know what the plan is. We could have a different front office this time next year. You play to win. Period. Or you won't last.

That's a foolish plan. That's how every FO since the return has been thinking "Win now! Gotta win now!" and look where we've gotten. The current FO went to Haslam with a long range plan and said you have to give us a few years to make it work. Now, Haslam could change his mind, but they're clearly (not overdrafting a QB, signing young FAs, trading for young players) drafting with actually building a team that will compete every year, not one that maybe gets over the hump to get a wildcard one year and then is immediately bad again. Saying you play to win every year is part of what keeps bad teams bad. You have to have a plan that actually encompasses a long range vision for your organization. It's why Pitt is always good, it's why NE is always good, it's why Seattle turned it around (in addition to finding QBs). We see everywhere that the two keys to winning consistently these days are stability and planning in the FO/coaches and a franchise QB. Playing to "win now" every year is how you get where Buffalo is right now.

Yeah we've been really going in win now mode recently which is why we've amassed 2 first round picks damn near every draft, traded back every draft, been millions below the cap number year in and year out. Let's just say I totally whole heartedly disagree with your sentiment about that.

If 2/3 of your first rounders get limited playing time after a year you just went 1-15, good chance you're getting fired. There are going to be too many players we could have picked instead that are likely going to make an immediate impact.

That said I expected the browns to move up from 12 to pick Trubisky and I'm pleased they stayed in the pocket, grabbed some great prospects, somehow got 3 picks in the first round.

The fact that Dizzy and are are agreeing on so much is disgusting, but....

Njoku is 20 years old. 20. 2 years younger than Howard.

Age matters. This isn't a guy with a maxed out frame who needed time to develop in college. He's a physical freak who stepped in and played well at 19 and 20.

What does he look like in 2-4 years?

I see no reason he couldn't be 255-260 pounds and shredded and able to play in-line and the slot tbh.

I figured it out, guys. Dizzy is LETSGOBROWNIES.

You'll die a slow, painful death if you keep this funny business up.

Watch it buster.

I would assume this means Gary's days are probably numbered. Hope we keep him for another year but I can easily see him as a camp casualty. I can't see us carrying 2 TEs who can't block. Plus we just drafted devalve last year. They probably want to play the young guys.

The profit.

Truly an incredible prediction.

Who'd have thought a 30 something year old TE could be on the chopping block after his team drafts a TE in the first round?

Genius.

This is such a proud day, there is almost tears in my eyes. I feel like the teacher that finally helped that D minus student get a C plus. It just goes to show you that hard work at educating people does work.

Bosko's guy said we were trying to trade Barnidge 1-2 months ago.

APOLOGIZE BONANZA.

I think Sashi is full of crap here.

No way a team with all these picks and a glaring hole at QB isn't at least kicking the tires on Cousins. At a minimum making a phone call or two.

He could be telling the truth too. They probably did talk about Cousins, but not last night.

Was this one of the bits of info he got when he went upstairs to take care of his child and secretively listened to his buddy and coach Williams all of a sudden start talking about confidential Browns info?
