Discuss.

Personally, don't hate it but I thought Lamp or Cunningham/Foster made more sense.

Well, we didn't hang about. They clearly wanted him.

I'd rather have Foster or Lamp. But if this guy can produce, it certainly was a position of need.

I was thinking Lamp or possibly Foster after he slid. It is obvious that we need a pass rusher aside from Wake but we got gashed on the run all season, and could use much better LBs. Plus we yet again have a hole at OG that needs filled. Lamp could play C as well for when Pouncey gets reinjured. I will definitely be comparing the careers of Harris to Lamp and Foster for the next few years.

My sentiments exactly, but I really REALLY wanted Lamp. I think he's a can't miss guy.

Harris had deficiencies vs the run. We can't afford more of that.

I give it a 6/10. I hope he proves me wrong.

Hate it. Hate the player, but really hate that we passed on the likes of Foster and Lamp for him. Yuck

I'm a little Disappointed in the Charles Harris pick. I understand that OG isn't good value in round 1, but I think Forrest Lamp is a much better player than Charles Harris.

Chris Grier has already placed the kiss of death on Harris. His exact comments were that they envision Harris as a situational pass rush specialist, who will play on 3rd down and long. His only job will be to rush the passer.

Branch will play most of the snaps at DE.

I don't love it and don't hate it.

I thought we were primed for a trade down or would have taken Lamp.

What I will say though is we appear to be more decisive then we have been previously and clearly stuck to the board and valued Harris as the top Edge rusher on the board at the time.

Still some good prospects on board in next two rounds.

Disappointing, if true.

I understand the value of the passrush, but I thought Lamp was a much better player AND he could be on the field for every snap when we're on offense. Unless he injured, or we're up by 3 TDs in the 4th Q.

I wonder if he can still be had trading away our 2nd, 3rd, and a couple of 5ths - which I know would make many Fins fans pull their hair out. I think SEA get him, though.

I don't hate the pick but I would have much rather taken a chance on Foster. The kid is a stud and would have fixed our LBs once and for all. Having said that him being a situational pass rusher isn't a big deal. He'said a rookie drafted 22nd not number two. Now if he is a situational pass rusher when Wake calls it quits I would have a problem with that. There is still a lot of talent on the board. Cunningham, Lamp, Buddy Baker, willis and a couple guards. We can come out of day two sitting pretty

Ya'll really wanted to draft another LB with shoulder issues, character concerns, and drug usage eh? Smile

Nothing wrong with Harris spending his rookie season as a pass-rushing 'specialist'. He can can spell Wake/Branch/Hayes while developing and learning the game. I like how varied his pass-rushing moves seem to be.

I am ok with the pick, I think Harris was scheduled to be off the board before 22, somewhere in the area of 12-15.

I really thought our pick was gonna be Jared Davis, but Harris I think is overall a good pick, no character flaws that I can find (off the field)

I know we need someone to help stop the run and ALWAYs need help on Oline. Lets see what we do in the next few rounds.

Don't hate it but don't love it.

Read an article that said Miami has 2 teams call them to trade up. Grier said he didn't really even look at the offers cause they knew Harris was the guy. If that is true he needs to be canned.

In almost every trade last night, the team trading up over paid except the Niners.

I kept saying Miami had to come away from the first two days of the draft with 2 Starters. Wondering if Davis was their pick if Lions had gone in different direction the pick before. My BPA (based on need) last night at #22

1. Foster
2. Lamp
3. Watt
4. King
5. Harris

If we could've traded down for decent value, I like this pick less. Confused

Harris probably could've been available a bit later and even if he wasn't, we could've landed Lamp. Unfortunately, no way he falls to our second pick unless a picture of him in a gas mask emerges... Twisted Evil
