But not about him being from the U at all. Wink

Anyways, I'm meh on this round. I'll just put it this way, if you told me six hours ago that our first two picks were Corey Davis and Adoree Jackson, I would have been stunned that there wasn't at least one, probably two trades made.

It's not. I couldn't care less where they went to school. I stated why I liked him.

Not to trigger you into another rant, but you were right about the Titans somewhat forcing themselves to take a WR and CB. Should've been more active in free agency to give ourselves more flexibility.

I am bummed we didnt' trade to get an 2nd. I don't like not having that 2nd and I don't want to give up anything to get in the 2nd.

But if someone like Budda Baker falls, then I'd be ok trading a 3rd to move up.

Id love for someone to show me a proven difference maker at Corner in the 3rd...its so hard to tell. Not saying its not possible but highly unlikely.

Show me a proven player in the 1st. It's the draft, every single pick is a risk.

But if we're going off college production, there are several "proven" CBs that could fall to the 3rd.

Jones proved himself in college (arguably the top CB in the draft class prior to his injury)
Tabor proved himself in college (at least his 41 QB rating against him the past 3 years says he is)
Conley proved himself (to the tune of 14 catches given up last season with a 14 QB rating)

I know thats kind of my point...you can barely get a guy in the 1st who is a day 1 difference maker...I dont think you can say we can get a corner in the 3rd...In my way of thinking doing that is almost as good as not drafting a corner at all...

We were atrocious in pass coverage last year and we need some help. Adoree has a very good chance at coming in and starting at Nickel...and will make a huge difference for us on defense...he will be a terrific return man...he has been improving at corner so who knows he might have the skills to play outside as well.

Yes the guys you mentioned might be proven in college...but Im talking proven to help improve a team in the NFL...in our case we were 9-7...borderline division winners. IDK if waiting to take a 3rd round corner is the smart move if winning is important.

Howard/Foster would have been a nice pick if we had the 2nd I would almost immediately pull the trigger. But not having that 2nd..for a #2 TE...idk its just a tough sell for me.

I like Jones...Jones would be an excellent pick for our team if we feel confident in investing 2 CB picks I wouldnt be opposed to it...

Tabor in my opinion is toast...hes gonna get burned consistently...I know very early on I saw Tabors name in 1st round mocks...but Tabors issue is speed if Im not mistaken. And its not like other positions where you can say he has football speed...at corner you need SPEED...and Tabor doesnt have it.

JRob playing coy when asked about sitting out the 2nd round says he loves to get in the action.

Mularkey: Adoree could come into play in offense gameplan

JRob: Likes the versatility of Davis. Can play outside or inside. Good with the ball in his hands, great YAC.

Mularkey: Davis very competitive, all football. Adoree can return punts and kicks, very effective at both. Will probably start with punts.

Haha. Because I said those players were better than players obviously better than them.

Robinson said he had talks to trade back at 18.
I'm guessing none of the talks involved getting an 2nd.

I think that is what he wanted and nobody wanted to give up an 2nd.

I would have taken a third if we're talking 5-7 picks. Just don't get the feeling Adoree was going anywhere.

Meh, I'm kind of tired of ranting. It's just how it is. We didn't attack our needs in free agency and opted to invest funds in ways that still baffle me (Cyprien and primarily Williams), any one that still wants to debate that can feel free to do it without me. Laughing
