I knew that guy's name was familiar. Stupid pick. Evil or Very Mad

Cleveland just took Caleb Brantley with the 1st pick of the 6th round, I was hoping he'd fall to us this round. I think the risk meets the talent at this point.

Not sure why they "need" to be anything, we should just continue to take BPA at this point.

Sure. That works for the earlier rounds. But later rounds you're addressing depth.

I'm not saying to take a OG in the 6th and forego a CB you have rated as a 2nd rounder. Clearly, if the delta between the two is large, you take the higher rated guy. But, at this point, most prospects are roughly equal in most teams' grading systems.

So you look for depth (while anticpating the guy as an eventual starter) and guys who can play Special Teams.
I think most of the time in the late rounds you are just taking best player available, it's why we kept drafting WRs and RBs for years while we already had some young guys developing. I also don't think you're really expecting too many 5th through 7th round picks to develop into staters, if they do, that's awesome! But it's just gravy!

I agree with what you said about trying to find depth guy's and special team's aces in the late rounds and that's probably why we took Nicholson and Sprinkle, I think they fit the bill there.

We must have traded back in round 4 or 5. Does anyone know?

I'd really like to hear this explanation. I don't see how you can be upset with the guys we've selected so far today other than we haven't taken any Hurricanes.

Perine has been a more consistent running back for OU than Mixon, he just doesn't have his natural talent, but we can rely on Perine to get us tough yards, particulary short yardage and around the goal line because he's big and strong. This a bigger & stronger Alfred Morris.

Nicholson was a good safety at MSU and we needed depth at S after not re-signing Nacho, Nicholson will replace Nacho's spot on the roster and be Sue's back up and a special teams player. Sprinkle is a good all around TE who's a good blocker, which we lacked up until the time we selected him and he'll be a special teams guy also.

Solid picks.

I think Sprinkle can develop into a starter. If we didnt have one of the best in Reed.

Id love to see both out there at the same time for Kirk. Let Reed continue to run slot receiver routes.
With the smaller size of NFCE dbs. We can put the biggest lineup out there catching in history in the redzone with Reed, Pryor, Sprinkle and Doctson. Laughing

Moved up 2 picks to move down 10 later. We must have really wanted this Roullier guy.

Dan wanted someone to bounce some stadium ideas off of.
