Sorry, the tank is empty there imo

i wouldn't say that... hes not the probowl guard he used to be but hes adequate enough to compete for the starting spot that Lang left...

most of his current flaws can be covered up by the fact that hes got 2 guys around him that are solid (Bulaga even more so). hes not a complete turnstyle yet

How much have the Packers saved by moving on from Sitton and Lang? Including Sitton's contract in in 2016, the Packers will probably save $50M!

Shocked

About enough to extend two to three good guys at more premium positions, on team-friendly deals...

Love the move, even if it only pushes Barclay off the roster Wink

Whos the only back up center at this point? Barclay still makes the team as I see it.

Oh no! I didn't think of that! I guess TT is forced to draft a C then... Laughing
Amichia started off a C, then moved to OT.

But I wonder if they want to groom him to a be a future guard replacement? 3 starters up next year and I would guess Linsely most likely to be back.

We can sign 1 more Qualifying UFA to a contract worth up to 3.6 Million in 2017 (with the guys who are left on the market it should be much less than that) and still receive our 4 highest (remaining) compensatory picks.

Any Qualifying UFA we sign would cancel out the departure of Datone Jones.

That extra 3-5-5-6 is sexy.

Would love a 4 sprinkled in there. Would prefer 3-4-6-6.

So, assuming 8 mil roll-over into 2018, rookies will cost? 5 mil? no idea, but maybe as high as 8?

So we have 5 mil in cap to spend on a potential FA? Is that the current status?

One would assume any move made would happen after they don't count towards the comp pick formula.

I've read that May 9th is the magic day, so we'll see if any vets find a home next week

As painful as it is to say, that's probably the thing that gives Barclay the advantage to make the 53 man roster is his ability to play C.

Bring in Mangold for 1-2 years, better than Barclay....
Tell him he can compete for starting spot, and if not he backs up all 3 interior positions.....OL is set.

Why would Mangold sign that deal unless you pay him big $$$? He could easily sign on with a team like the Saints right now that had their starting center go down, and make both solid money, and continue playing.

This isn't madden. Just because we might want a player, doesn't mean the player wants us.

He's 33 , he's at the end and may want a ring, no one is going to offer him more than 4-5m/yr IMO.

You might be right. But why wouldn't he go to a team with a more clear cut path to a starting spot?

Either we bring in someone tomorrow, or we wait for cuts and see who gets cut...
