Just 3 days ahead of the draft, not sure what my schedule will be like for Thursday since I never control that. Hope to follow closely but not certain that is in the cards.
My ideal draft would be:
1 - CB Gareon Conley
2 - DE/LB Takk McKinley or Tim Williams (I know, pinch me, more likely Carl Lawson is available here )
3 - ILB Anthony Walker (would not be opposed to Joe Mixon if still available here )
4a - RB Marlon Mack, D'Onta Foreman or Samarje Perine
4b - CB Corn Elder
4c - OL or DL
5 - another EDGE or WR/TE
My ideal trends would be:
- two RBs, two QBs and at least 1 WR/TE get selected in the first 15 picks to push defensive talent down.
- Marshon Lattimore is the only CB taken in the first 14 picks
- if Conley, Lattimore and Humphrey are gone then Charles Harris is available because he is my fall back plan after the top 3 CBs.
- not opposed to taking an OL, just would prefer defense in the first 3 rounds. I DO NOT WANT Cam Robinson or Garrett Bolles. I wouldn't be upset if Ramczyk or Lamp are the pick though I feel both are reaches.
- I would prefer trading down in the first over trading out completely.
Colts draft picks
Rd 1 Pick 15 - S Malik Hooker Ohio St
Rd 2 Pick 46 - CB Quincy Wilson Florida
Rd 3 Pick 80 - OLB Tarell Basham Ohio
Rd 4 Pick 137 (from NE/Allen trade) - OL Zach Banner USC
Rd 4 Pick 143 (from SF) - RB Marlon Mack South Florida
Rd 4 Pick 144 (Comp Pick) - DT Grover Stewart Albany ST
Rd 5 Pick 158 - CB Nate Hairston Temple
Rd 5 Pick 161 (from Wash thru SF) - Anthony Walker Jr Northwestern
Trades
4/121 traded to SF for 4/143 and 5/161
6/200 traded to NE with Dwayne Allen for 4/137
7/233 trades to Cleveland for DE Billy Wynn _________________ Colts/Badgers/Brewers/Bucks

A brilliant ideal draft, admirably heavy on defense (and no more Grigson to spoil it for you! ); players slotted approximately where they are valued.
Well done!!!
May I offer a minor demur or two (and I defer to your vastly superior knowledge of the Indianapolis Colts, NFL football in general, college prospects, and global concerns)? - Takkarist McKinley is downgraded in some quarters as being straight-line fast, but stiff, as evidenced by his 20-yard shuttle (4.62 seconds) and 3-cone drill (7.54), some of the slowest times among edge rushers; and, if I remember correctly, it's D'Onte Forman, Samaje Perine, and Garett Bolles- might as well get them right, they might be Colts one day!!
Awesome effort on your part!!!! _________________ Nacho! Leave it! |

Some guys I could see Ballard targeting based on his comments or just my gut feeling:
CB Ahkello Witherspoon
CB Rasul Douglas
CB Brian Allen
CB Gareon Conley
CB Kevin King
RB Jeremy McNichols
RB Kareem Hunt
S Eddie Jackson
S Marcus Maye
S Obi Melifonwu
G Danny Isidora
G Dion Dawkins
TE George Kittle
TE Jonnu Smith
LB Haason Reddick
LB Anthony Walker
There, that should be enough to get 1 correct match
One prediction.. We'll go with Witherspoon if he is available in Rd 2 and didnt already take a CB in the first. |

I've heard that the Colts have shown strong interest in Florida ILB Jarrad Davis, could be an option in the 3rd _________________ Colts/Badgers/Brewers/Bucks |

His stock has risen significantly. We'd be lucky if he fell to our 2nd rounder.
That's what a phone psychic told me, anyway. |

And now per TMZ, there are allegations that Gareon Conley raped a woman in a hotel in Cleveland, no arrest/charges yet. A police report has been filed and Conley adamantly denies it.
If true BYE BYE NFL career. If not here goes your La'el Collins draft moment. _________________ Colts/Badgers/Brewers/Bucks |

I wonder if we go for a QB in a later round, Luck isn't going anywhere any time soon but it'd be nice to have a young QB on the roster to groom as a backup. _________________ I bought one of those tapes to teach you Spanish in your sleep. An update on the Gareon Conley rape accusation, A video from the hotel bar shows Conley and the accuser talking and laughing 25 mins before they got on the elevator. Her story in the police report is that they first met in the elevator.
I think we could draft a QB but I think that is something that happens if we trade down for extra picks.
I've also heard the Colts really love Forrest Lamp and that he might be the Colts pick _________________ Colts/Badgers/Brewers/Bucks |

1 QB down, need to see 1 more QB, 2 RBs and 1 WR/TE to go
Bears gave up a lot for Trubisky, Mike Glennon's contract was already considered a one year deal. Now it's definitive. _________________ Colts/Badgers/Brewers/Bucks |

RBs the Colts face this year: Fournette (Jax) 2x, Murray/Henry (Tenn) 2x, Miller (Hou) 2x, Gurley (LAR), David Johnson (Ari), Bernard/Hill (Cin) and Bell (Pitt)
Hopefully we add another DL and good run stuffers because our tackling needs to be waaaasyyy better now _________________ Colts/Badgers/Brewers/Bucks |

9 picks in and Johnathan Allen, Marshon Lattimore, Reuben Foster, Marlon Humphrey and Malik Hooker are still available
Not to mention still a chance Watson, Ramczyk and OJ Howard are available (not mentioning for Colts to pick but picks that could push the above mentioned players to us) _________________ Colts/Badgers/Brewers/Bucks |

Allen and Foster both have injury concerns, Conley has the rape accusation. Hooker is a surprise to still be available. So Humphrey or Lamp? _________________ Colts/Badgers/Brewers/Bucks |
