Sources: #Saints & Adrian Peterson believed to be closing in on a deal that’d pay him $3M+ in ’17. Not done, but moving in that direction.

Odd fit. If the salary is accurate, looks like he swallowed his pride (finally).

Going to the team, that cheated their way to taking his one shot at a ring away.

How do you divide carries between Ingram and Peterson?

Can't say I'm a fan of this fit for AP.

So how many yards does AD run for against his former team opening week on Monday night?

Not a fan of the fit. And it sounds Ian may be trying to fabricate a story, really. "Not done, but moving in that direction" is about as non-committal as these guys get. Laughing

Unless Mark Ingram is injured, I'd be kinda surprised if he got more than 7 or 8 carries.

Can you blame him? At least he's playing with a legitimate QB again.

I could see it working out. Hope the saints turn it around. Huge brees fan.

Only $3 mil, worth it to see if he can do anything as a backup with very limited carries. If it doesn't work then we don't lose much of anything. Plus I'm sure he's glad to play with a guy like Brees after all those years of bad QB play. Wink

Contract will be worth it alone on the amount of salt about the signing. Can't wait for week 1. Laughing

Tell you ONE thing: Adrian Peterson may find it just a leeeetle bit harder to gain all those yards, without The Gatekeepers of Valhalla, Matt Kalil and T.J. Clemmings, plowing open all those big holes for him!
