Of all of the prospects not named Myles Garrett who is your first choice to make it to #9?
I like Allen the most. Not prototypical size for our FO but can play any spot on the line and well. More polished than Thomas imo and third downs next to Geno would be a thing of beauty. _________________ Are you the police?

Thomas. He's younger, and has a much higher ceiling. I think he might slip to the 7-9 range if the QB run starts right away with Cleveland jumping up. And if it does, it gives us a chance to deal McCarron late, late Thursday or early Friday for a second rounder to a team that loses out. |

Voted for Soloman Thomas. Jon Allen wouldn't be bad either... |

Thomas for me. But Allen would be if he had a clean bill of health. _________________

While I would be ecstatic with either one at 9 I liked Allen's tape a little better. _________________ Are you the police?

I went back and watched a few games of Jon Allen today. I initially loved him, then my love for him dipped a bit after three events: Being non-existent in the championship game, medical (shoulder), and average combine testing. But when I watched him and saw him consistently beating one-on-one I got excited again with him as a prospect.
What I saw was that he's not the best lining up outside as a 4-3 DE, but he was a monster inside. With Geno constantly getting double teamed, I could see him making a huge impact next to him. His hand usage and initial burst was too much for guards to handle him. I lost count of how many times teams would double Geno and then none of our other guys could beat double teams. That wouldn't be the case with Allen.
So consider Allen the 1b to Soloman Thomas' 1a for me...

We are in Nickel so much, he would line up next to Geno and that tandem could be amazing. I dont love him as a 4-3 end, but in base he could be the edge setter. Still draft a DE in the 3rd or 4th who is a speed guy _________________

Or hours. His injury history scares me away. Ligament injuries linger, move around, but never really go away |

I voted Thomas, but I'm happy with BPA honestly. I'd love to see Christian McCaffrey in this system. If we don't land him in the 1st and go DEF wouldn't mind seeing Curtis Samuel in the 3rd. Get as many playmakers as we can get on the offense. |

I would love Hooker, I think his talent is undeniable and too good to pass up. He won't make it to #9 but if he does I'd turn that card in in a heart beat _________________

I really don't think I'll hate the pick whatever we do, whether it be one of those guys or even trade back which is nice. But the more I think about it the more and more I want OJ Howard. He seems like a low risk player who can improve the passing game and ground game if teams get spooked by taking a tight end early he could fall and we might take him.
But if we some how grab Thomas, Allen or Foster I think that's an immediate upgrade to the D and I trust Guenther to use players properly than Zampese. _________________
