The one question I have (which I don't think we can answer): if he was trying to dilute a drug test, what was the drug he was trying to hide? If it's marijuana, it's not great but workable. Another illegal substance? That's a problem. PED? That's a major problem.
Irritable attitude, blowing up on physicians at the combine. Roids is a possibility.

Flip side: if he had the flu and was sick, that could explain the irritable attitude and blowing up at physicians.

I think I still might take a chance, but make it clear the leash is short.

That doesnt work. If Scot was still here, Id like them to take the risk. But without, Id rather pass. Cause we have nobody even allowed to help players like him. Scot got yelled at cause he went to the lockerroom to sit with a player and help him. So I have 0 faith in whats there to help this kid mature and work through any issues.

This is a decent counterpoint.

You avoid him the same way you avoid Joe Mixon. With the morons we have in charge we simply cannot take chances like other teams can.

I disagree on this one for a few reasons:
1. A quality running back is much easier to find than a quality inside linebacker.
2. There is a difference between domestic violence and a failed drug test. Remember, at this point, Foster's failure is due to the sample being very dilute (a technical failure). It does not represent a positive.
3. Again, even if it were to hide a positive test, we are not sure what he's hiding. If it's just weed, then *shrug*. If it's PEDs, then that's a problem. That's part of the gamble, but that is part of the gamble for any player.

Still, as veteran posters, we need to prevent people from making bad life choices like drinking the swill that is Fosters.

The guy obviously isn't the brightest, but like with McDowell we are going to have to start taking some chances on talented guys who may have a red flag. We can't fill the roster out with just choir boys - minus Galette - and expect to eventually get where we want to go. Bethard, Gibbs and Caserly didn't build the team with all choir boys. If he's there, we should take him.

Agreed. We need a weekly PSA to help combat this destructive behavior

You take chances on guys like that in the second and third round, not the first. There's a perfectly fine ILB in Jarrad Davis without all the red flags and he'll be there for us to pick at 17. I like Foster and I wouldn't be mad if we took him but if we don't knock this first round pick out of the park there's going to be an issue after what happened with Doctson.

That is short for a linebacker, but not small. Ray Lewis was an inch taller and maybe 10lbs heavier.

Let's remember this guy played his college ball with all 1st rounders in front and around him. Made things a lot easier. Is he the next Rolando McClain?
Let's not compare him to Ray. This guy is no Ray. Pass
