Looking at prospects and team needs, I put together this mock to be hopefully a realistic B+ draft. We know the team needs and hopefully this will meet MOST of them that can be addressed thru the draft.

(1) Tre'Davious White LSU CB: I looked at who is likely to be available and he appears to be the most reasonably available scheme flexible guy. In the first round, I would shy away from less experienced corners, smallish corners and those with injury concerns. He is a good tackler with good size and nice hands. Should be able to start by mid season and be a long term answer opposite of Artie.

(2) Jordan Willis KSU OLB : At this point he very well might be the BPA at this position of need. He has the size, speed, work ethic and proven production to be a real difference maker in the NFL. His hall of fame coach called him the epitome of what he wants in a player. This man has literally no red flags.

(3) Cooper Kupp EWU WR: Tough call here. Several top WR's still available and many could make a big impact on our offense. We do need more weapons. Would not mind an elite TE at this point either. I just think the value will be there at WR with Kupp or a couple of others.

(3a) Brad Kaaya MIA QB : This is probably where the arguments will get a little louder. Any quarterback in the draft is a shot in the dark, but Kaaya does have an excellent deep ball, good height, ok arm, youth, and he played in a pro style system. He will need 2 years of work to find out if he will work out.

(4) Wayne Gallman Clemson RB : Size, speed and shifty moves added to his ability to catch the ball and show up in the biggest games make him a great fit. Connor and Perine are both excellent, but I like his suddenness. Hopefully, a quality back can actually be USED in a rotation so Bell isn't injured for the playoffs. ijs

(5) Eddie Jackson Alabama S : Good athlete, solid tackler and probably the best available safety at this point. I'm not in love with him, but this isn't a big gamble for a potential future starter.

(6) Josh Carraway TCU OLB : He is about 20 pounds too light to start at OLB today, but is a big time producer on the field. He will need to develop, but that is expected. Josh has the speed and may develop into a rotational rush specialist, which is a definite need in the NFL today and especially on the Steelers.

(7) Isaac Rochell ND DE : just looking for someone who might stick and provide depth. Would not argue with a developmental ILB or an OL.

Okay, let me know what you think...

I am a fan of White. I like him there, and I think if he ends up being the pick, we are in a good place.

Love Willis... hope he is still there.

I dont like either 3rd rounder. Not a Kupp fan, and I think the QB pick is so overrated at this point.

Love Gallman and Jackson. Don't think either will be there at these picks.

Carraway is good here, and I am a fan of Rochell.

I am going to be one of those guys that say that we need a TE. This class is too good to not take one. I'd also say that if we want Jackson, we'd need to spend that 3rd on him. I wouldn't mind that at all...

Jackson is coming off a broken leg in October so I wouldn't be surprised to see him drop to the 4th or 5th.

This would be a great draft imo. White, Willis and Jackson on defense and Kupp, Gallman and Kaaya on offense. I'd take that. Not big on QB but I like Kaaya as a developmental prospect. Tom Brady super-lite. Wink
