In the situation we are in trading up makes a lot of sense to get another elite player to pair with Garrett.

So who would be your ideal choice if say we trade up whether it's with a team like Tennessee or Jets or any other top 6ish team

Marathon Lattimore?

Hooker is the smart choice, FWIW.

I am not opposed to trading up from 12. I prefer not to use pick 33 though. I wonder what pick we can get with 12/52, and who they would target. I just hope it isn't for a QB.

If I'm spending my money, it's gotta be a hooker.

I completely agree. If the Browns are moving up I hope its for Hooker. I would do it for Adams too.

I would live trading up 2-3 spots to go after a corner.

I dont want to trade up for any one else.

I have also came around to the idea of maybe potentially trading down and targeting Wormley from scUM. I think he could be the ideal 3tech. I would rather trade back up into the late 1st to get him tho and walk away with 3 legit players who would all have potential 5th year options.

Jamal Adams without question would be my #1 choice. Compared to Hooker, there is more tape on him, he is more versatile, and he has less question marks (shoulders, tackling ability, continued success).

That being said if hes gone Hooker would be my second choice and still worth the trade-up.

This Hooker won't come cheap, but it'd be worth it.

Really? We getting a Hooker with a lifetime contract or something? Very Happy

I am 100% ok on drafting nothing but D in the first 2 rounds this year.

If life has taught me anything, it's that you get what you pay for with hookers, and to always err on the side of overpaying

Hooker has questionable coverage ability? He hasnt seen many route combinations because of his one year of starting but I dont remember ever seeing him getting beat deep

hard for me to past on a safety when some of his ability gets compared to Ed Reed.

Adams might be more versatile he could play SS or FS but Hooker by far has more potential than Adams IMO. Hookers ability to be a rangy center field type FS is going to make him a huge difference makers, specially when Garrett and Ogbah force QBs to throw a pass up and he can just go after it

1) If your trading #12 plus multiple 2nd round picks to move up in or near the top 5 of the draft--it would be idiotic not to select a QB. You dont make that move as a team with no franchise QB to select a Safety...

Imagine if the Browns of all teams, after passing on Carson Wentz last year through trades ended up with 2 top 5-7 picks in the draft and didnt select a QB again.

2) If it wasnt for a QB--Im doing it for Marshon Lattimore. Elite CB prospects are more valuable than elite Safety prospects for the simple fact that they play the 2nd or 3rd most important position on the football field. Which in this draft loaded with CB talent in the first 2 rounds, would be stupid. Therefore, the only way Im trading UP from 12 if I am the Browns is for a QB my scouting dept. is sold on. I would also mildly entertain Johnathan Allen simply because Garrett--Allen--Shelton--Ogbah would be a helluva young talented line to move forward with.

Also, Buno--Yes, Hooker has single coverage questions. Mostly all of his great plays or INTs came from single high coverage where he could play freely and not cover 1v1 a whole lot. Ed Reed comparisons stop when you look at tackling. What made him great was that he was also a absolute enforcer. Hooker is far from that. This is not a dig at Hooker but more of a endorsement of Adams. I think you are severely underrating him. I think Adams could go as high as the 3rd pick in the draft and that is for a reason. He could very easily be a Earl Thomas/Eric Berry clone. There are still a lot of questions with Hooker which is why he is unanimously ranked behind Adams on experts draft boards.

I like Malick hooker because game changing FS are very rare the last great one was Ed Reed.
If you can get a guy that makes plays on the ball then you have got a very valuable player. I value this more than plays on the receiver

He is 1b or 1c for me in this draft.

There hasn't been an excellent FS since Ed Reed maybe Earl Thomas, but there are many excellent thumper type SS, TJ Ward, Cam C, Keanu Neal that is why Id prefer him over Damas.

If you can get someone who pressures the quarterback consistently then that is the only player that trumps a Malick Hooker type player.

Which Is Garret or maybe Solomon thomas.
