Mock Draft Game

- submit your mock drafts to me via PM on Thursday by 7pm central time
- just list the picks and trade details if you have any, I don't need or care about your explanation for each pick.
- this is for the Bears only, Rounds 1-7, not the whole NFL.

Scoring
Round 1 - 10 pts
Round 2 - 15 pts
Round 3 - 20 pts
Round 4 - 25 pts
Round 5 - 30 pts
Round 6 - 35 pts
Round 7 - 40 pts

Scoring Trades
I'm considering trades to have 3 components: the pick they trade out of (3rd overall, 36th overall, etc), the team they trade with, and the return.

Slot - 10 pts
Trade partner - 10 pts
Return - picks returned in a trade will be assigned their corresponding point values depending on their round IF you correctly predict who the Bears select with those returned picks. If you predict the Bears will get a player in return, that player will be assigned a 3rd round point value (20 pts).

Should you correctly predict a future pick (including the round) coming in return, that will be worth 10 points.

Example 1:
Prediction: Bears trade 3rd overall to jets for 6th overall and Sheldon Richardson.
If that happens you would get 10 points for predicting the Bears would trade out of #3, 10 points for predicting they would trade with the Jets, and another 20 points for predicting Richardson. Another possible 10 points if you correctly predict who the Bears pick at #6.

Example 2:
Prediction: Bears trade #36 and 3rd pick to Steelers for #30.
You would get 10 for choosing the steelers as the trade partner, 10 points for predicting they'd trade #36, and another 10 points for predicting they'd trade their 3rd round pick. Then another possible 10 points for predicting who they choose with #30.

Im open to any and all suggestions if you see something that doesn't make sense. Also post if you plan on participating.

I'll do it. Right now I'm designing a full first round draft (all teams) with a few trades, and then obviously the rest of the Bears picks, so I wouldn't expect to win, but it'd be fun

4 points-right team, right player, right slot

3 points-right team, right player

2 points-right player, right team, regardless of slot

1 point-right team, right position

The trades are covered within each scoring piece, obviously you lose the slot bonus.

We do this every year on Thursday. Loser buys the first round on the golf course the next day.

That is actually a pretty cool tradition.

Looks like your 2 and 3 point categories are the same.

Ok here's where I'm at so far:

I'm still working on including future picks in trade scoring. I'm also going to include something to clarify scoring on trading up, since my explanation currently really only includes trading down.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Also, to incentivize this a bit - winner gets their own mock draft thread stickied for the next year.

OP updated with rules, as well as a sign up list. If you're interested in playing post that in here. Also take a look at the rules and let me know if it all makes sense.
