seems stupid that the player would even be involved in this. Marketing agent should work directly with equipment manager. Why would the player be the go-between?

Seems like a stupid story that doesn't even add up.

Players keep jerseys, helmets, balls etc more often than not from special games (I.E you're keeping your super bowl game equipment) so that does add up. Eli probably did sign some sort of contract to give away his Helmet or Jersey otherwise the lawsuit wouldn't have gotten this far and I wouldn't put it above a player to want to keep his own memorabilia.

I highly doubt players keep EVERY jersey and EVERY helmet from EVERY game. Again, it just seems weird that Eli would be directly involved in this. I could see the agent selling more qty than actually exists and eli maybe being aware of it or something, but it seems like the fault of the agent and manager and very little to do with Eli.

then why would Eli be asking for something that "could pass as game worn"? That part just doesn't pass the sniff test for me.

If the agent made the mistake and oversold I would think the agent would be the one asking for the equipment manager for that, not Eli. Pretty bad business to say "I screwed up, could you fix it?" I'm sure the agent could get in touch with the equipment manager if he really wanted.

That's obviously just speculation on my part though. And like I said before, I really don't care anyways. Laughing

Yea, I can't think of a good spin on asking for helmets that can "pass as game used".

Not a good look for him.

This is exactly what I meant, albeit my rhetoric was stronger and probably came off the wrong way. I don't think any serious punishment will or really should come of this but it still makes him look like a much bigger prick than anyone ever knew he was.

So we're all officially over this whole "due process" thing now, right? Thank god. I was getting really tired of waiting to pass judgement on people.

Need more game worn "NFL Authentic" stuff? Challenge Peyton to a 1-1 game with Archie playing all time QB. Play each game to one and swap a new jersey on each game. Boom. Problem solved.
