Mychal Kendricks is still on the trade block for Philly. I really wish we would send a mid rounder to them for him. He would be a big upgrade for us.

Won't happen unless he is going to take a pay cut, due 6.6M this year.

How so? I mean maybe a change of scenery and scheme will do him good but he's just a fast guy who can blitz but he's soft and can't cover or tackle. I listen to Philly talk radio all day and they do nothing but bash him and don't see any trade value in him. If he's a big upgrade for us, then we're in trouble.

I'd do it for a 7th and that's it

Take a look at our current MLB depth chart. We're in trouble.

There is still a draft and always a stop gap option.

No need to get desperate on a bad player.

Reggie doesn't value that spot typically. Thinks he can find it in later rounds and as UDRFA

Then you could've said "if we don't address it, then we'll be in trouble" the way you stated it made it seem like the season starts tomorrow

Nope. I said take a look at our current depth chart. I thought current had that meaning already.

But since I don't think we have any games scheduled for this week or month that have to be played by the current roster I wouldn't say we are in trouble.

FIFY

Very true. Was just highlighting that the team has ample opportunities s to fill the supposed void in between now and any meaningful game.

That's very kind of you but the original post was about Kendricks being a big upgrade from what we have now, which is trouble. Do you want to disagree with this or take the discussion somewhere else. If it's the latest, proceed. Saying Kendricks is an upgrade doesn't mean we definitely can't find an upgrade elsewhere too ("in the draft").

I got off track a bit. I don't believe Kendricks is a huge upgrade over James and Jenkins. I think his main asset is his speed in space. I think that James and Jenkins provide that in our system.

I think James hasn't shown enough. I think Jenkins has been injured most of last year. I can't feel confident with them. To be fair, Kendricks hasn't performed that well lately but i think he'd fit better at MLB in our scheme.
