A little surprised by this move but I guess it makes sense seeing how many guys they signed in FA and that Porter is going on 31 years old.

It seems as though Fuller will be given another chance to show the team what he has.

I'm not really that surprised, but I figured he would be held through training camp in case of injuries happening to other CBs.

I mean, with our CB's last year, I don't think you can say having Porter on the team was a bad thing, and he wasn't exactly a huge money signing. He didn't really fit on the roster with the Amukamara and Cooper signings, especially if Fuller is healthy, so I can see why they waived him.

Three - the number of corners we have under contract for 2018 (Cooper, Hall, Le'Blanc).

A corner will be drafted, IMO, especially with talk of Hall moving to safety.

Regardless they may even double dip later. He is seeming like a very likely candidate though.

I'd have to think Lattimore is an option... I kind of like the idea of Sidney Jones in round 3... but torn Achilles are a MF.

As I'm firmly in the 2018 or bust camp, I'm all in for taking a swing at a guy who won't see the field until 2018.

His balky knee had him in and out of the lineup lat year. They probably just don't feel that they can trust him to stay on the field at his age. And now with other veteran options on the roster this should have been expected.

You're looking at it way too narrowly. There will be good corners on the board through the first three rounds.

Seriously, I tried to make a list of possible Bears targets and had like 12 corners through three rounds, and that's excluding guys I didn't think were good scheme fits.

Especially with a few who have bounced back so well. Crabtree, Suggs, etc.

Lattimore is very talented but the dude scares me. Only 1 year of starting experience and he has recurring hamstring issues. That's a big risk to take at #3. I don't think he's the pick unless they trade down a few spots.

Yeah. While I think he has the ability to be an elite CB, his hamstrings say he might be the best CB on IR over the next few years.

Most certainly. I don't know if the Bears gain a cap edge, etc. by releasing Porter now, but why tip your hand on the draft? Unless, aka, "Princess Bride" type move of making other teams think we'll go CB in the first and then going another direction.
