As you may know, I have 2 kids and therefore no social life, so I participate in as many GM mock drafts as I can leading up to the draft.

In GM mock drafts, other fans act as GM's for other teams, so I don't have to guess who might be there and what trades other teams might do when I put together a mock.

I'll post the results to all my GM mocks in this thread for you all to hate on.

This was my first draft only GM mock of the season. I’ll post all my GM mocks I do in this thread for ridicule. Enjoy! Or Don’t……

Note: This draft was past the 3rd Round by the time the Timmy Jernigan trade happened in real life.

TRADE!!!!!
Eagles trade LB Mychal Kendricks to the Oakland Raiders for CB Sean Smith

Quote:
Sean Smith had an injury and by all accounts a rough season last year for the Raiders, but the Eagles need for CB is massive and Smith is a tall, physical veteran who could be a solid starter for the birds and keeps me from forcing 2 CB’s early in the draft. We all know Kendricks is dead man walking in Philly.

TRADE!!!!!
Eagles trade C Jason Kelce and pick 118 (4th) to the Seattle Seahawks for pick 102 (3rd) and 226 (7th)

Quote:
These are the deals I’d look for Kelce and Kendricks in real life. Pick swaps similar to how we got Jernigan from the Ravens. This deal proved very beneficial in this draft.

1.14- Christian McCaffrey RB Stanford

Quote:
This is a pick you either love or hate. Personally, I’d love to see McCaffrey in this offense and I think he adds instant impact. He is a bigger Darren Sproles who you be leaned on more heavily in the run game. I was between him and John Ross at 14 after no trade down materialized. I went with McCaffrey because of his versatility. He can provide impact at RB, WR and in the return game. This offense all of the sudden is loaded with weapons.

2.43- Tra'Davious White CB LSU

Quote:
I metaphorically sprinted to the nonexistent podium to make this fake pick. The CB population really fell in the last couple mocks I’ve done and White fell right into our laps here. This is the ideal scenario after the McCaffrey pick in round 1. White isn’t flashy but he is a really good cover CB who’d excel in this system. He’d work across from Sean Smith for a year or 2 and then become the team’s #1 CB in an ideal world.

3.74- Duke Riley LB LSU

Quote:
Holy LSU Defense, Batman! The Duke can play inside and out and can start in the WIL LB spot in part time duty and then take over for Nigel Bradham in a year if the Eagles decide to let him go.

3.102- Derek Rivers DE Youngstown St.

Quote:
That trade up with Jason Kelce from 118 pays off. Grabbing Rivers here is a steal. He is a perfect fit in the wide 9 scheme and can be instant impact as a pass rush specialist and can develop into a long term starter with time.

4.139- KD Cannon WR Baylor

Quote:
I wanted Taywan Taylor here but he went literally the pick before, but Cannon is not a bad consolation prize. Eagles seem to be on the hunt for a deep thread speed WR and Cannon fits the bill

TRADE!!!
Eagles send 2018 3rd Rounder to Ravens for DT Timmy Jernigan and 2018 4th Rounder

Quote:
Got Timmy J for a 2018 swap. Hopefully he plays well and is still on the team when we are paying for this trade. This makes the mock a touch unrealistic because I had pick 74 and still got Jernigan.

5.155- Brendan Langley CB Lamar

Quote:
I was trying to grab a DT with this pick but there was a sizable run, so I grabbed another CB. Langley is another small school product that could pay big dividends for the Eagles. He’s got great physical tools and good production for his level of competition. He’ll get time to learn with Sean Smith and Patrick Robinson on the roster.

6.194- Jadar Johnson S Clemson

Quote:
Not the best athlete in the world but very instinctive and highly productive at Clemson. Johnson will be a good special teamer and I think has the chance to develop into a solid reserve and rotational safety.

7.226- Matt Dayes RB NC State

Quote:
A downright, dirty steal in the 7th! Dayes is a great compliment to McCaffrey because he is a between the tackles, downhill runner. He’ll be good in short yardage, and goal line. I’d be very excited to grab him and McCaffrey as a great compliments in the running game

7.230- Keionta Davis DE UT Chattanooga

Quote:
3 mocks to this point and 3 times I grab Davis and twice here in the 7th. I’m not sure 3 small school guys in 1 draft is ideal or realistic but he’s got too many tools as a pass rusher not to take here in the 7th

Depth Chart

QB- Carson Wentz/Nick Foles
RB- Christian McCaffrey/Darren Sproles/Wendell Smallwood/Matt Dayes
WR- Alshon Jeffery/Torrey Smith/Jordan Matthews/KD Cannon/Nelson Agholor/Dorial Green Beckham
TE- Zach Ertz/Brent Celek/Trey Burton
OL- Jason Peters/Issac Semualo/Stefan Wisnewski//Brandon Brooks/Lane Johnson/Alan Barbre/Chance Warmack/Halapoulivaati Vaitai

DE- Vinny Curry/Brandon Graham/Chris Long/Derek Rivers/Marcus Smith III/Keionta Davis/Steven Means
DT- Fletcher Cox/Timmy Jernigan/Beau Allen/Destiny Vaeao/Aziz [inappropriate/removed]
LB- Nigel Bradham/Jordan Hicks/Duke Riley/Najee Goode/Kamu Gruiger Hill/Joe Walker
CB- Sean Smith/Tra’Davius White/Patrick Robinson/Jalen Mills/Ron Brooks/Brendan Langley/CJ Smith
S- Malcolm Jenkins/Rodney McLeod/Chris Maragos/Jaylen Watkins/Jadar Johnson/Terrance Brooks

K-Caleb Sturgis
P- Donnie Jones
LS- Jon "Magic Man" Dorenbos
RS- Darren Sproles/Christian McCaffrey

I've got 3, so I feel your pain... Although, we're leaving the kids with my mom in Doylestown tomorrow to spend the week in Barcelona. Always enjoy the GM mocks!

I couldn't do 3. I've always said, I want my kid to hand ratio to be 1:1

No doubt. Once they start outnumbering you, it gets crazy.

As for the mock... I like caff a lot. But I don't see us going RB at 14.

Hate Tredavious White. The finger wags after the opposing QB makes a bad throw (like he did something special) bugs me. I know he's a corner, but teams purposefully run towards him...He's THAT bad in run support. I've seen multiple games where he runs away from a tackle.

I really like Duke Riley, Cannon and Rivers.

^
I honestly don't give a crap if a CB can tackle if he can cover. I mean it's nice to have a CB that is good is run support but I wouldn't avoid a good cover corner because he's a bad tackler against running backs.

Ok here is mock #2. It is very different than mock #1. The mock is still going but the last couple rounds are kind of crumbling so I just projected the last couple picks. Please leave feedback or hate on it if you so wish.

TRADE: Eagles trade LB Mychal Kendricks and 4th (139) to 49ers for Pick 109 (4th) 202 (6th)

TRADE: Eagles trade C Jason Kelce pick 118 (4th) to Seahawks for pick 102 (3rd) and 226 (7th)

TRADE: Eagles trade Pick 14 to Broncos for pick 20, 82 (3rd) and 2018 4th
1.20 Gareon Conley CB Ohio State

Quote:
Conley has been given the label as a “finesse corner” and not one that Jim Schwartz wants, but Conley has great speed and quickness to keep up with speed receivers. Conley can play the ball and has good football IQ

2.42 Kevin King CB Washington

Quote:
King has great size, speed and ball skills can really hang with the bigger NFL WR’s. I think the combination of Conley and King could possibly turn into an elite duo that compliment each other well. King is another player that gets a label as a “zone” CB but he certainly seems to have the traits to succeed no matter the system.

TRADE: Eagles trade 3.82 and 6.202 to Jets for 3.80

3.80 Alvin Kamara RB Tennessee

Quote:
Once I saw Kamara slipping, the decision was easy to flip a 6th and jump up to grab him. Kamara could be the ideal fit in this offense as a runner and a receiver and could be the every down RB that this offense has been craving.

3.99 Ryan Anderson LB Alabama

Quote:
My DE board was decimated between 80 and 99 and instead of reaching for a DE, I took Anderson who will probably fit best as a blitzing SAM backer in this D. Bradham will move to WIL and can split time with Anderson when they are in 2 LB sets.

3.102 Montravius Adams DT Auburn

Quote:
I was gunning for Jaleel Johnson but he got scooped up between 99 and 102, so I took Adams without knowing a ton about him. What drew me to him was his pass rushing ability, he has all the physicals tools to be a difference maker as an inside rusher. When Adams is at his best he could be downright scary in a rotation with Timmy J and Big Cox. But Adams also has major issues with massive inconsistency and bad technique at times. If Gym Shorts can coach him up he could be a real value, but he certainly has a high bust potential.

TRADE: Eagles trade 4.109 to Vikings for 4.130, 5.160 and 7.232
There was nobody at a position of major need that a I felt I had to have at this pick, so I traded back and picked up 2 extra picks bring my total to 12 picks in this deep draft.

4.130 Daeshon Hall DE Texas A&M

Quote:
Playing across from Myles Garrett, Hall should be more productive, but he’s got all the tools you look for in a pass rusher at the DE position. He’ll get time to learn and hone his craft learning behind Graham, Long and Vinny Curry.

5.155- Eddie Jackson S Alabama

Quote:
Jackson is coming back from a broken leg and may not contribute much in 2017, but with 12 picks I can afford to take a guy like this. Jackson is a former CB turned Safety that could really blossom in that 3rd S hybrid role behind Jenkins and McLeod. He may have benefited from playing behind such an elite defense and scouts are all over the place with him, but I think he could bring a dynamic element to the back end. Jackson is also a punt returner and has the ability to turn any pick into a TD.

5.160- Donnel Pumphrey RB San Diego State

Quote:
Darren Sproles 2.0

6.194 Shelton Gipson WR West Virginia*

Quote:
I was looking to add a WR earlier but the board never lined up for me. Gipson is a one trick pony but that trick is speed and touchdowns, so I’ll take that trick.

7.226- Brad Seaton T Villanova*

Quote:
Eagles have tons of Guards and Centers but are a little lite in Tackle depth. Seaton is a massive man that could develop into an NFL RT.

7.230- Nate Hairston CB Temple*

Quote:
Hairston will be a special team’s ace day 1 and can develop into a solid CB, he is pretty new at the position as he converted from WR.

7.232- Keionta Davis DE UT Chattanooga*

Quote:
Basically a requirement I draft him every time at this point…..

*projected pick: draft not complete

Roster
QB- Carson Wentz/Nick Foles/Matt McGloin
RB- Alvin Kamara/Darren Sproles/Wendell Smallwood/Donel Pumphrey
WR- Alshon Jeffery/Torrey Smith/Jordan Matthews/Nelson Agholor/Dorial Green Beckham/Shelton Gipson
TE- Zach Ertz/Brent Celek/Trey Burton
OL- Jason Peters/Issac Semualo/Stefan Wisnewski//Brandon Brooks/Lane Johnson/Alan Barbre/Chance Warmack/Halapoulivaati Vaitai/Brad Seaton

DE- Vinny Curry/Brandon Graham/Chris Long/Marcus Smith III/Daeshon Hall/Steven Means/Keionta Davis
DT- Fletcher Cox/Timmy Jernigan/Beau Allen/Montravius Adams/Destiny Vaeao
LB- Nigel Bradham/Jordan Hicks/Ryan Anderson/Najee Goode/Kamu Gruiger Hill/Joe Walker
CB- Gareon Conley/Kevin King/Patrick Robinson/Jalen Mills/Ron Brooks/Nate Hairston/CJ Smith/Dwayne Gratz
S- Malcolm Jenkins/Rodney McLeod/Chris Maragos/Eddie Jackson/Jaylen Watkins/Terrance Brooks

K-Caleb Sturgis
P- Donnie Jones
LS- Jon "Magic Man" Dorenbos
RS- Darren Sproles/Donel Pumphrey

2 Scat Backs 1 Cup

I drafted Pumphrey Phones to take over for Sproles next year, so we have him.a year early so for 2017 it's a bit overkill but not beyond that.

I wouldn't characterize Smallwood or Kamara as "scat backs". I think Kamara is a pretty complete back.

I like everything you did on defense (but Anderson) and of course I'm on board with the 2 selections on offense (Kamara/Cannon).

I think Anderson is a DE in our scheme, doesn't have the range to even see the field as a LB.

In the fifth I would've grabbed a bigger back.

I guess I can dig Gipson providing that deep threat with this late of a pick. Hopefully he can develop more of a game than go routes.

Why has Davis fallen so far? If I remember right he did pretty well in the senior bowl. Did he bomb the combine or something?
