I'd say solid signing. He's better than the bottom CB's on our roster. Can contribute on special teams and I know the draft is deep at CB, but we've signed two in FA and tagged Trumaine....maybe we should take the hint that this draft might be focused strictly on the offensive side of the ball. A new HC's first draft is typically spent setting up their specialty, in this case it is the offense. I'm if the right CB or pass rusher falls to us we would jump on it though. If the value is too great to pass up.

he will play nickel. so joyner to fs looks more and more like a done deal.
we will still pick a corner in round 2 or 3.

Wouldn't surprise me if we went offense with our first 2 picks given how deep this draft is on defense.

I still think one of the day 2 picks should be defense. There is likely to be some really good defensive value at either pick.

I love this signing personally. Really helps us go for offense in this draft with the higher picks. We definitely need some guys on D too as we have changed schemes, but love that we signed a starter qualify nickle back.

Nickell Robey-Coleman cut by the Bills. He allowed a passer rating of 74.86 in the slot; 2nd best for slot CBs just behind Chris Harris Jr.

I dont expect any jumping for joy or anything, but this signing warrants a better reaction than that IMO. Again, not the greatest signing in the world, but for this stage in Free Agency I think its a quality signing.

Agree. I know PFF isn't the end all be all, but they ranked him as a quality slot CB. He's the 3rd best CB on our team. Not sure how that isn't a good thing.

... and he's from USC =)

I dont agree with using analytics as a primary factor, but it can be a helpful tool at times. Film is the first, second, and third best way to evaluate players, but as Ive said before-- the Rams will be using analytics A LOT more going forward and I think weve seen that to hold some truth already this off-season.

I'm really confused with your reactions to nearly every rams signing. You've been so dissapointed in just about all of them....but you were upset when we didn't sign the legendary...Rex Burkhead.

There's something to be seen here. It tells us a few things:
1. LaMarcus Joyner is moving to FS.
2. The Rams recognize that they need CB depth.
3. The Rams don't want to go into the draft with too many glaring needs.

I think Robey is a solid slot CB and a nice depth addition.
