@RapSheet

Source: The #Redskins have agreed to terms with FA LB Zach Brown, pending a physical. Big-name free agent off the market.

Verrrry interested to see the numbers. He visited so many teams and was available far further than he should have been.

Semi-confused at this signing. Well, he is an upgrade over Foster but the ILB they seemed to want to upgrade was Will Compton who plays more of the playcaller/mike role while Foster plays the strong side more often. Everything I've seen of Brown is he'd fit much better in Foster's spot then he would Compton but they're probably gonna put him in Compton's spot...

Either way, glad we got an ILB upgrade.

Apparently Foster played more of the Compton role in TB, so he can take over there. Would love to see Compton relegated to a reserve role. This is a very good signing for us, pending the numbers.

He is a good signing for Washington but the decision puzzles me. Its only a one year deal. Hos biggest weakness is stacking and shedding/being physical against the run. He couldve signed to play Will in a 4-3 on a playoff team with the reigning DPOY. Instead he signs to play ILB in a 3-4 on a team that lost Chris Baker and is pretty weak on D-line talent.

Dont really understand his thought process unless Bruce Allen beat everyone else's offer by a couple mil...

I was persuaded to go to one of his shows even though I'm not a fan of that genre.

Was not disappointed, they were great live.

On topic, why did he take so long to sign?

Since when do FAs make decisions based on any of that

Because i feel like a large majority players care about winning and since his whole goal is to rebuild his value for free agency next year, it makes little sense to me that he'd pick such a poor fit to showcase his talents.

He might make a mil or 2 more this year but i expect his value to drop significantly by next offseason, thus losing far more money in the long term...

Suppose he didn't like some of the offers he was getting. He also switched agents a little while back.

Ian Rapoport
✔@RapSheet

#Redskins LB Zach Brown signed a 1-year deal worth a maximum value of $4.65M, source said. $500k signing bonus. Not bad this late in FA.

One of the best signing value-wise this offseason.

Teams a mess so it's a moot signing
