Good Signing.
Wish we could have done a longer deal, but maybe we can get one done during the season or even next year and keep him since he's only 27 (Love That!).

Strange that Oakland was probably offering a 1 year deal too. And that he hadn't received any big offers during the first week of FA.

Perhaps it's good to have him on a One-Year deal so we can evaluate before offering a 3-4 year deal...

Still desperately need inside push from the DL on 3rd down (draft please), but our nickel package doesn't look as terrible as it did yesterday.

If Smith/Breeland/Fuller can develop into consistent starters, we might actually have an average defense. I would definitely draft a CB high this year if it makes sense. Same with EDGE speed rusher instead of relying on Galette yet again.

Good pick up but they still need to consider Foster if he's available at 17.

Consider Foster?? If Foster is there at 17 you get to the podium faster than Earnhardt at Daytona!

You think they'd put Hood in at RDT in the nickel over McClain? I thought the whole reason we signed the guy was to get a push up the middle.

Nah, PFF is on drugs if they think that. Maybe it was just laziness on their part. But McClain isn't much of an upgrade over Hood according to them.

This is in base:

If the redskins are smart they draft tj watt and Cooks I feel like we can draft a starting ILB in the third .

Draft them and our D will be a lot better . I do not want a safety at all here and out better be lB or defensliveman .

Ian Rapoport
✔@RapSheet

#Redskins LB Zach Brown signed a 1-year deal worth a maximum value of $4.65M, source said. $500k signing bonus. Not bad this late in FA.

Can't count on Gallette at all. I like the Brown signing a lot. It definitely pushes DL- C/LG to the top of the needs list. I just hope they stop fooling around with these low budget FAs and invest a high pick on the defensive interior. I know sub packages are used way more these days but a 1st down run plugger makes it easier on the LBs tracking down RBs and much easier on the secondary on 3rd. Dare I say the D is one or 2 pieces away?

Compton is a guy who is similar to what Reed Doughty was, he is someone you want on the field in certain situations but you don't ever want to have to rely on him being on the field at all times.

Good analogy-75% heart and brains, 25% talent .

Yep, and after telling him that on twitter, he has since blocked me. Truth hurts I guess.

Compton is just not tough enough to be an everydown LB in the NFL. He gets mauled by many offensive lineman and is late to react to any run plays.
