Good win with an Elvis walkoff single. 3 straight vs KC, going for the 4 game sweep tomorrow Razz

Nick Martinez is the player of the game. Really didn't expect that type of performance from him, but he looked great. 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 BB, 3 K. Gave up 3 of the 4 hits in the 6th which led to KC's run but outside of that he was nearly perfect.

Carlos Gomez had 3 hits. Choo had a hit and a walk. Napoli had a solo homer.

Lets get 'em tomorrow, Yu.

When you get that kind of performance from a spot starter, you'd hope the bats would wake up a bit to help him out. I know it's early in the season, but guys like Lucroy, Napoli, and Roogie need to step up.

They'll turn it around. Most of our offense is struggling right now, but many of them are proven hitters so I'm not too worried about them.

Roogie and Lucroy have especially been disappointing so far though.

Finally got the real Yu Darvish to show up this season.

8 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 8 K

Both runs scored on back to back solo HR's by Moustakas and Bonifacio but other than that he was perfect.

Joey Gallo is tied with Nolan Arenado, Justin Turner, Giancarlo Stanton and Ryan Braun for 13th in the major leagues with his 1.0 WAR. *side eye emoji*

It's not surprising Odor has been struggling at the plate. His plate discipline is horrible and he don't take walks.

His BABIP sucks right now at under .200. He's not making good contact, he's hitting a ton of pop ups and weak little fly balls.

In the long run he'll be fine. Just going through a slump right now.

Already posted this in the gameday thread, but this is all that needs to be said about tonight's game:

I don't like blaming umpires but that game was a load of crap.

I mean, I count 8 Rangers strikes that were called balls, and 1 Rangers ball that was called a strike.

I see 2 Twins strikes that were called balls, and 5 Twins balls that were called strikes.

It just ruins the game.

And right on cue...

#Rangers C @JLucroy20: "Donít like to make excuses ... if youíre going to call pitches out of the zone, OK, but do it for both sides."

More @JLucroy20: "I felt like from behind the plate, if we had the same zone then they donít score those runs [in the 5th]."

Joey Gallo homered again. Nothing else good came out of that game.

Onto tomorrow...

Good win against the Twins to at least win the last game of that series. After going down 2-0 today, and being shutout through 4, I was not hopeful but the offense finally clicked and we win 14-3.

Hamels was okay, he only had 1 strikeout but managed to pitch into the 7th and he left with a lead. That was Hamels' first career start with > 6 innings and less than 2 strikeouts.

DeLino Deshields went 2/3, 3 BB, RBI, 2 SB. Pretty much the perfect game from your leadoff man, so hopefully he gets more chances there because Gomez wasn't cutting it.

Andrus went 2/4 with a walk and 2 RBI.
Odor went 2/3 with a walk and 2 RBI.
Rua went 2/5 with a grand slam.
Gallo went 1/2 with a double and 2 walks. He's up to 10th in the majors in WAR. Cool
Choo went 3/5 with a triple and a 3 run homer.

Didn't get to watch too much of this series, and it's probably a good thing I didn't.

Nomar Mazara had 10 hits in his first 17 at bats this year, he has 12 in his last 75 at bats now, and only 3 (!!!) in his last 42 at bats.

Confused

2 blown leads in the first 2 games of the Houston series. I would be surprised, but this bullpen has been - all year so I guess I should get used to it.

The good news is we hit 5 home runs tonight, so that's fun.
