FOX26Houston‏ @Fox26Houston

#SPORTSSCOOP Case Keenum signing with the Minneosta Vikings http://www.fox26houston.com/sports/245444621-story?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

He spent the last two years with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams.

Last season Keenum played in 10 games for the Rams, starting nine.

In 2016 Keenum threw for 2201 yards, with nine touchdown passes and 11 interceptions.

At the University of Houston Keenum became the FBS all-time leader in total offense.

He is also the only quarterback in FBS history to have passed for more than 5000 yards three times.

He really isn't all that terrible. Very decent #2 QB for us.

time to say bye to Heinicke?

we definitely could do worse than Keenum as a backup.

Not a bad choice to compete for the backup job. 29 years old so he has some veteran experience.

Bring all the former Rams QB's. Hill, Bradford, and now Keenum. Maybe Goff next?

Wow. I'm guessing this means Teddy is on the PUP at least until week 6.

I'm sure there probably will be a competition to see who we keep as our #2 this year.

We would have a whopping $3,334 of Dead Money lost by cutting Heineke.

Adam Caplan‏ @caplannfl
Case Keenum's deal with #Vikings is for 1 year, $2m plus incentives.

I've been predicting that for a while now, and I stil think it's a safe bet.

Depends on what Heinicke does in camp and the preseason. If he shows positive development, keep all 3. Bradford has been injury prone.

He will start on PUP but probably end up on IR when the season starts.

What's the latest we can designate him for IR? After week 6?

During the preseason, the league also allows players with long-term, but not season-ending, injuries to be placed into one of two designations: physically unable to perform (PUP), for injuries sustained during the previous season or during training camp, or reserve/non-football injury, for injuries sustained outside of team or league activities (despite the name, this includes lingering injuries from college football play, should an injured player be drafted and join the team). Both designations are functionally identical in that the player can be promoted to the active roster by week 6 of the regular season or placed on injured reserve.
