Really the perfect qb for what I want for us at QB this year. |

Nicely done.
I literally have zero expectations. If Petty and Hack both look outmatched during preseason, we know there's at least a warm body to play QB for us. $6m is backup money, and hopefully that's what he'll be. _________________ J.e.t.s. |

For me he's the perfect guy for it to be a complete open qb competition in TC and PS. Let the best man start. If it's McCown let him play until the season is over for us and play Hack the rest of the way. |

This move is Fitz all over a again. If he was brought in as a back up I am OK with that. Is a 37 year old OB going to take snaps away from Petty & Hack then I will hate the move more than when we sign fitz for his last year. I guess only time will tell. |

This is what I don't get; why didn't we give Chase Daniel a couple of extra m's to compete with Petty for the job? At least there is some upside in that move aka a <5% chance of Daniel become a long-term starter
McCown has no upside at all and we are one of if not the worst team in the league

I clike the signing. I think it allows the jets to comfortably change QBs without people getting up in arms about it. $6M is nothing so pretty happy with that too. I would have been okay with most QBs here. Hopefully this is a sign Hack is almost ready to start. |

Love love this
As a northeast Ohio person, I can tell you the Browns credited McCown with turning Kevin Hogan into a semi functional qb. He's like an added coach here who can play in a pinch |

I'm sorry, I hate the signing.
McCown has a chance to not only win the job, but start for at least 3/4th's of the season. Good luck getting a proper judgement on Hack with Bowles' reluctancy to change QB's. It took us 7 games to see Geno last year, and he went back to Fitz after the Geno injury. He's not going to give Hack a proper chance at the job. 4-12, and the 4th pick in the draft, here we come. _________________ Hooker @ 6 |

That is my feelings exactly. Mc Cown lifetime record is 79 TD pass & 69 INT that is a lousy ratio.

Well if Hack or Petty can't beat him, they are trash. So I really hope they are ready. _________________

Don't hate it but not crazy about it either. The contract indicates that they have every intention on letting the young guys compete for the job, which should be interesting. |
