Middling LB with injury issues. He's not a bad LB, but is allergic to impact plays. He's pretty decent in coverage. His nagging injuries have been holding him back for the past couple seasons.

ST player and can compete with whoever else we bring in at WLB. Not a bad signing but no surefire starter either.

I don't mind it if it's a 1 year deal. He'll be 25 this year so if it doesn't work out, we can always cut him/not be tied down.

If we can get PR back and draft another LB, i'll be fine with this.

Jelani Jenkins was awful this past year, but I think that may have had to do with a knee injury that nearly caused him to miss Week 1. Jenkins ultimately played in only nine games. He was a solid player beforehand, and he's only 25 in March, so he should be able to rebound.

I like it. Signing a guy with prior injury concerns but should be 100% in preseason. Could be another Perry Riley type signing

We have 2 "bodies" at LB now with some degree of talent in Riley and Jenkins and neither are particularly old.

Now we need to add a youngin who can play inside/outside and we'll be cookin.

I think Neiron Ball and Kory James aren't bad players either and if one of them COULD improve, they could potentially push for playing time.

Meh... can't complain. Young, some upside. Good for depth.

Cheaper option than Malcolm Smith, likely same production

Looks like he had a really good 2nd season then had a dip, some problems with injuries and hasn't managed to get fully healthy. His 2014 stats and PFF grades look good fwiw. Also main strength is coverage. Interested to see what he could do if fully healthy. Like Big P said - cheap Smith replacement.

I like the move.
Low risk with solid upside. Him and Ball can try to stay healthy together. The WLB E.R. unit...

Let's bring Perry back and draft at least one more LB.

We don't have Riley yet. Jenkins is just a guy to me, but this has been this front office's m.o. has been to devalue the second level. I'm not holding my breath for a linebacker getting drafted in the first two rounds.

Updated depth chat
WLB: Jenkins, Ball/Henney
MLB: ??????, James
SLB: Irvin, Aldon/Cowser
Still need at least one LB... ball and Henry could be easy cuts too

If Ball is healthy, I don't see how it's necessarily an "easy" cut. Big if though
