Cris Carter:Treadwell has to play well in his second year. They have to get some productivity from him. I’m not surprised [he played little as a rookie] because it’s very, very difficult. It’s a tough transition, especially at wide receiver. They have to know coverages, reading the routes on the run. He can still be good, but there are a lot of things that he has to work on. I think the jury is still out. He has to be able to prove he’s worth it. I am in communication with him and I believe that he’s starting to figure out what pro football and what life is about.’’

bust, mediocre receiver to be, or can become someone special?

I'm expecting big things from him next year.

Guys with the level of work ethic and drive that Treadwell poccesses don't disappear and bust. They figure out how to fix the problems and get better.

I don't expect Treadwell to start but he should be valuable in 3 WR sets and in the redzone. Thielen and Diggs are too good, just don't want to take them off the field unless they are injured.

The Vikes have had a different breakout receiver each of the last 4 years. Thielen, Diggs, Johnson, Patterson in that order. My money is on Treadwell this year.

I had no idea that he suffered a season ending injury late in the year that prevented him from getting his starting reps. All year he improved in practice and was just about to jump into a starting role before the injury.

I too am expecting a big jump from him this year.

I wouldn't expect much from Treadwell this year or ever really. We wasted a pick.

People are ridiculous with their snap judgements on rookie players. Give him time. Treadwell was a better prospect than Mike Williams is, but nobody ever mentions that. We used a pick for a good player at a position if need.

My expectation is for him to be the #3 guy and have around 40-50 catches. If he can be a solid possession receiver that can move the chains and a decent redzone threat that would be great.

If he gets beat out by Wright or a rookie this year then he is in trouble.

I expect a lot of 3 and 4 WR sets this year.

I don't trust Diggs to stay healthy either

I think it's been understated everything he's had to work through.

First of all, he said he wasn't 100 percent for any of his final year at Ole Miss. Then, six weeks into the season, he hurt his thumb. Going into Week 10, he hurt his hamstring. Then ending the year it was his ankle.

If he can get past these and get in a good offseason of work, I think we can begin to see glimpses of why he was drafted in the first round.

I don't expect to see a big 1,000 yard season, but I would like to see him become successful in the red zone.

I would hope not. Expecting him to go from a 15 yard season to something that hasn't been done in Minnesota for nearly a decade would be a little unrealistic.

Love this take. No context, no explanation, just "we wasted a pick". Laughing

My hope is that he starts running the routes that Patterson ran last year, and displays his physicality on short routes. Theilen and Diggs have proven to be adept at getting open in the intermediate and deep part of the field, but a physical short yardage receiver with good hands would be a great step from last year.

Beyond that I hope he can round out his game in year three. He has all of the physical ability in the world.

He will triple, .... no... I'll go out on a limb and project him quadrupling his production from 2016 in 2017.
