Raiders strongly considering acquiring RB Marshawn Lynch, either through trade or by his release, sources tell @JosinaAnderson and me.

Marshawn Lynch is in shape. He's thought about playing. Raiders are interested. But would the #Seahawks actually trade him? We'll see.

@RapSheet

By the way, #Raiders inquired about #BeastMode last year & a trade nearly happened. Marshawn decided to stay retired. Weíll see this year

Retired RB Marshawn Lynch did, in fact, tell #Raiders he intends to un-retire and play again, I'm told. It's a long process, tho #BeastMode.

On Marshawn Lynch: My understanding is that meeting with Jack Del Rio is the final hurdle. If the #Raiders coach signs off, dominoes fall.

Sources: The #Seahawks & #Raiders are expected to work out a trade for Marshawn Lynch to Oakland. Itís contingent on a reworked contract 1st

@VicTafur

Now that #Raiders and Marshawn Lynch have agreed to terms, trade with #Seahawks expected to go smoothly

UPDATE:

@VicTafur

Good morning. Itís finally done. Marshawn Lynch is coming out of retirement as #Raiders and #Seahawks agree to trade, as ESPN reported.

Why would he want to un-retire?

I would first like to hear from Lynch that he is interested in a return. If he wants to play I would love for him to be on the Raiders. With Richard and Washington solid options, Marshawn wouldnt have to carry the ball as much as he has in the past.

Has a ring and money. Some players come to truly miss gameday and the spotlight, though.

Of course, it's all meaningless speculation unless Lynch comes out and says something.

One has to wonder why Peterson is still employing his agent.

Would love to see this. Shouldn't, but Beast Mode back home would be so fun to watch. He needs to be a committee back though.

AP doesn't necessarily seem like a bad teammate or anything, but Marshawn has a personality that really shines in a locker room by all accounts. That, plus the local connection and his history of winning in SEA could really be a great addition to OAK.

Would be weird, but wonder what Seattle would do. I'd like to think we'd make Oakland trade for him, but who knows with Pete and John. They might think the "right thing to do" is release Marshawn. Personally, I wouldn't let him have his way without getting something worthwhile in return. He chose to retire, you can't come out retirement and choose any team you want to play for.

Now if we get a pick for it, all the power to him and I wish him the best. It would be fun to see him play again somewhere

A conditional pick makes the most sense

Favre didn't get to choose. GB sent him to NY for a 3rd round pick.
