Couldn't be Ford. He was in the locker room being interviewed by Greg Coleman.

And this is only a really small example of how collectively bad they are at covering the local sports teams. Yesterday I heard Rossen going on about his worry for Teddy's knee because of the nerve damage...who know the thing that totally didn't happen.

I'm bored of the recent mundane talk about irony.

I'm hoping for an update on the story, with a new wrinkle.

Four months after surgery on his left ankle, Vikings safety Harrison Smith said Thursday he has healed. Smith was limited when OTAs began last week but did all the work during a Wednesday session that was open to the media.

Smith: Im doing everything, so its not really an issue. Its built up over the years, just needed a little clean-up. Nothing big.

Tommy Armstrong is used to surveying the field before the snap. As the former starting quarterback for the University of Nebraska, Armstrong would line up near the line of scrimmage and try to get a read on what the defense was going to do. Armstrong surveyed the field Thursday morning at Winter Park, but he was as far away from the ball as possible, as a safety and transitioning to play defense instead of offense.

Armstrong: Its pretty much the same, honestly. You look for keys, look for things that tell you whats going to happen. Quarterback is the same way, you look for tendencies and safeties and identify different coverages. You have to know exactly what you have to do on both sides of the ball. Im learning a lot faster than I thought I would, Im studying as much film as I can in my off time. I came in four installs behind but Ive talked to Jack [Tocho] and we sit down at night going over all of the installs. Most of the time, its a long day and a long process. You want to go home and go to sleep but I go home and stay in the playbook. I try to get a jump start on the next day. The key is just coming out here and being prepared.

I wanted to help a team regardless of what position it was. Having this opportunity with the Vikings has just been a blessing. Most people would just give up after playing one position and sticking to that position throughout the process. Just having my inventory open and having an open mind to help a team really helped me a lot."

Nick Easton was with the 1s again. Edmond Robinson was with first-team LBs. Anthony Harris also got first-team run with Smith on the side.

What requirements are needed for Teddy to be cleared to practice?

I could be wrong, but wouldn't he be fine if he just wore the brace at all times? Or is that rushing it still?

Are you his doctor? Or Eric Sugarman?

"He looks normal -- you don't see any kind of limp. That's not saying he can walk on the field and play right now." - Tom Pelissero
