Right now the Vikings are supposedly in line for a 6th, and 2 7th round picks i next years draft.

Wouldn't be a bad haul, though we're still waiting on Peterson.[/quote

And possibly Asiata and Trattou. I wouldn't be surprised if they pay attention more to the players that were cut and try to hold on to those.

CB, OG, & RB are all fairly big needs in this draft. Newman won't be playing next year. We also need some LB, OT, DL & receiving TE depth.

OG is the biggest need going into the draft and needs to be addressed in the 2nd round. After that we'll just pick BPA at the area of needs.

Did I miss something with Newman? Or were you referring to 2018?

2018. We need a midround CB who we can groom. Somebody like Rasul Douglas from West Virginia.

I take it you've completely given up on Mackenzie Alexander being competent....

Even with Newman coming back i wouldnt mind bringing in Ladarius Webb. He has some position flexibility as well.

As far as LB, Min will draft one. Where i dont know.

I'm kind of liking Elijah Lee from Kansas St.

Leon Hall makes some sense as well. Knows Zimmer's scheme and provide depth at slot CB or S.

Im a fan of Lee as well, he was in my most recent mock. I think he would be a nice WLB in Zim's scheme.

But Edmond Robinson might be a name to watch for that spot, i think he has some nice athletic ability.

I'd rather just go with youth and have Newman be that veteran who can fill multiple spots. Hall would be overkill.

+1.

Too many fans lack the patience for younger guys to develop and step up into a significant role after 1-2 years as depth on an active roster or PS.

Spielman/ Brzezinski may be saving $ for contract extensions for younger guys or key vets who "proved it"; e.g. Rhodes, Diggs, ... or who may "prove it" during the season; e.g. Bradford, Floyd, Forbath, etc.

don't know if we're in on him, or it's just speculation (haven't logged on much the past few days) but Zach Brown is still out there.

Even with the cap space we still have available, I wouldn't go spending just because we can. That's not fiscally responsible. There are not too many guys worth considering that are FA's any more, at least not many who would warrant shelling out some dough for. The guys i would consider would be Zach Brown, Mangold, Webb, Pasztor, or Hall, but even then I don't know that it is completely worth it. End of the day, we have depth holes, and you need to fill some of those with rookies to develop.

The excess money we currently have really needs to be used for extending guys like Rhodes, Barr, and Kendricks. If not that, we need to roll the excess into next season, where we will again be needing to deal with upcoming expiring contracts.

Would be my most preferred signing [remaining].

# Changes!

Boone finally gets #75
Price switching to #24 with Murray taking #25.

Chris Tomasson‏ @christomasson
Free-agent linebacker Gerald Hodges tells me in a text message he has interest in returning to #Vikings.

Very capable player....

Not sure if this is saying "he has interest" or "MIN has interest".
Hopefully its both or the latter ... and hopefully we are evaluating all remaining LB free agents.
