Opens up a whole part of the field for DC. We haven't had a seam threat since Derek has been our QB.

Hopefully he can stay healthy. I still haven't given up on Walford yet though

I like it! Reggie is great at working contracts where we can get out of them in a year if they suck. Looks like this is the case once again. Happy to have him join the dark side!

How is he a weapon? He's never been a weapon.

This is a very good move. Gives Oakland yet another weapon. If they can land one of the better RB's in the draft that offense is scary good.

The offense was already really good. It's the defense that isn't good.

Been there, done that.

Basically a slot receiver.
What?

He was a very good blocker for us last year. He's far more than "basically a slot receiver."
No offense, but I wouldn't listen to anything Rams fans have to say about him because they only saw mostly bad from him. Rightfully, they don't have a high opinion of him. Cook was focused and happy playing for a winning team and a great QB, both of which Oakland has as well, and it showed on the field. He dealt with an injury at the beginning of the year but once he got healthy, he was an excellent player for us, especially in the playoffs. I'd fully expect GB Cook in Oakland, and not STL Cook.
Ignore his body of work for 48 games with St. Louis completely and only pay attention to one season and ten games in Green Bay. Interesting take.

Hopefully we can land Zach Brown (in Oakland for a visit), and an interior guy like Hankins next.

Case in point (set up the game-winning play):

It's amazing what a difference actually having a QB to throw the ball to you can make.

In the case of GB, he kept a safety and / or LB busy so teams couldn't double the Packers WRs with impunity. He only played 30% of the offensive downs but he made a big difference in the middle of the field. He's still fast enough to challenge the seam.

I don't know whether or not that's a "weapon" in your lexicon, but the Packers offense was better with him than without.
Raiders/Carr will be happy to have him, Rodgers was certainly a fan.

^^Which is why I think he'll do well with you guys. Derek Carr is no slouch, either.

You don't usually see good words about players leaving.

Carr has never had a decent TE! Sweet

Truthfully...

How many snaps of Cook's blocking have you watched, and how much discussion re: Cook's run blocking have you seen?

Big fan of him going to Oakland with a capable QB. Reggie probably confirmed with Ted that Cook was a worthy investment. Sucks it didn't work out here but it's a business.

Actually that is pretty typical Cook. One great play after dropping two or three easy passes.

It seems we've been dumped on but most Rams fans will tell you he is a good player. You just have to accept the drops and the lack luster blocking.
