@RapSheet: Source: The #Raiders are going to sign FA TE Jared Cook. A huge addition for QB Derek Carr and their offense.

Glad he went to an AFC team. He should be just as happy in Oakland with Carr as he seemed to be in GB last year. Good signing. Curious to see the money as it was reported he turned down more money then we ended up giving Bennett.

Been there, done that.

Basically a slot receiver.

What?

He was a very good blocker for us last year. He's far more than "basically a slot receiver."

No offense, but I wouldn't listen to anything Rams fans have to say about him because they only saw mostly bad from him. Rightfully, they don't have a high opinion of him. Cook was focused and happy playing for a winning team and a great QB, both of which Oakland has as well, and it showed on the field. He dealt with an injury at the beginning of the year but once he got healthy, he was an excellent player for us, especially in the playoffs. I'd fully expect GB Cook in Oakland, and not STL Cook.

he never had a reputation of being even an average blocker... didn't pay much attention to his blocking for GB

Vastly improved.

I can't think of a single complaint about Jared Cook from his time here. Other than I wish he played all 16 games.

Very happy to hear this. Sounds like he could be a good upgrade over Walford who shows flashes here and there, but is widely considered a major let down for a 3rd rounder. Hopefully he can stay healthy for us.

Our O sure added some athleticism with Patterson and Cook.

I find that hard to believe. Just because I'm a Rams fan doesn't mean I can't get a fair opinion on the guy. He's at best when you line him up in the seams. He, like most receivers, had been hurt by terrible offensive playcalling and quarterbacking in St. Louis. He will be a worthwhile addition to the Raiders passing game but let's not act like he contributes in the run game. Probably part of the problem for the Packers lack of creating running lanes.

Years of playing with the crap the Titans and Rams threw out there at QB wore on him. He was like a new player in GB. I'm sure he'll be that guy in Oakland too. He's absolutely a nice weapon.

I hope you gave him the 7-8m he was seeking too for our comp pick sake. Laughing

Nice signing. We all saw what he was able to do last year when he actually had a good QB throwing to him. I expect a big year from him in Oakland.

@RapSheet: The #Raiders and TE Jared Cook agreed to terms on a 2-year deal worth up to $12.2M, source said. The first year is fully guaranteed.

This is a very good move. Gives Oakland yet another weapon. If they can land one of the better RB's in the draft that offense is scary good.
