Source: OLB Jarvis Jones is expected to sign with the #AZCardinals. The former #Steelers first pick likely finds a home.

Has there been a bigger bust in recent memory?

But I seriously hope he's able to find success elsewhere.

I know a lot of people really liked him and thought he had a high floor, but wasn't he picked late teens/early 20s? I haven't kept much up with Jones but Dion Jordan was drafted in the same class. I would have to think in the last couple years Jones wouldn't even be in the top 10 for "busts".

???

For the Steelers? No, but he wasnt even the biggest bust in his own draft class....probably not even top 5.

Is this the first Steeler castoff since Whiz was fired? It was a good run.

Maybe not the biggest bust per se, but biggest disappointment in terms of value. I remember him being hyped up as the steal of the draft in terms of where the Steelers got him.

He lost ALOT of hype after a poor combine and being diagnosed with spinal stenosis. Alot of people were divided on him going into the draft. I was thrilled we drafted him...swing and a miss. Crying or Very sad

Yeah I remember people thought he might never play football due to his spine and also wasn't his 40 time like 4.9 or 5 seconds at like 240? He had a ton of hype in college but he's a middle of the road if not subpar athlete. He has good game sense though

Have you seen his draft class? He's not even close to the biggest bust in that class, let alone recent memory.

I remember watching a lot of Jones film before the draft and just thinking "how in the hell is this guy so productive?" The lack of athleticism and burst was extremely obvious, and I remember telling my friend (huge Steelers fan) not to get too excited with that "steal" of a draft selection. Not surprised one bit at how his career has turned out so far, but maybe a change of scenery will help.

He was a telegraphed bust. EDGE guys with his explosion numbers don't succeed.

yeah I remember him being a total steal and hearing that he went to the steelers that he was going to be the next great edge rusher to replace Woodley and Harrison...thank god that didnt work out!

Interesting. Didn't he get drafted lower than his talent level would indicate because of an injury? Seems to me I can remember him getting injured in his draft year.

What about Markus Golden?

Only combine result I found of his was the 4.9 40 but he just had a 12.5 sack second season in the NFL.

Also Chandler Jones. I read something a while back that he was the most successful (or maybe one of a few successful) non-sqarq edge rusher in the NFL.

He was the poster child for the Steelers to change their draft philosophy.
