I really like this signing. Always been a fan. Hoped Fartin Martin would of been dropped and Lacy scooped up.

I don't know what's funny. Eddie is what he is. He is fat. He will not be the same size when he was a rookie. The last two/three years have shown that hes either unwilling, or unable to lose the weight. However, a fat Eddie Lacy is a good running back. The injuries are a bigger concern than the weight.

And a player with motivational issues is the exact last person you want to invest significant amount of money into. Seattle can have him.
How is a 1 year deal significant? : lol: In today's NFL 5.5M for a potential starter is cheap

Well, that's relative to the position isn't it?
Sure, but it is a one year deal for 5.5M. Unless it is a punter or FB I don't know how you could possibly spin that as a significant investment.

Super conflicted. I hate him on Seattle cause I still think he's a good player, but I did not want him back at $5.55m.

I'm fine with him leaving at that price. He seemed to only care about food and video games in GB.

It seemed like he was well liked by his teammates but I did hear rumors he didn't love football for some reason. He liked playing and the money and all but it didn't seem like it was his #1 priority. I might be wrong...

Him being 267 pounds is concerning but he also hasn't been cleared for Rehab so ill wait until he shows up to camp before i judge.

Rawls and Prosoise are both better than Lacy.

It's been 2 years in a row he hasn't been able to keep his weight down even in season. He plays hard and can play well even when he gets banged up but it's a pretty bad problem for him even after he gets cleared to rehab/run

Why do people keep harping on the weight?! Didn't Jerome Bettis successfully play at a high weight too?

One different era when it was acceptable for a running back to average 3.6 yards per carry and still get the ball 300 times. Two I don't think Bettis was ever that badly out of shape.

We'll see. The issue is more that they both were hurt for large portions of last year. My guess is the hope is if you have 3 guys you think you can start one at least should be healthy and hopefully two at all times. With Prosise and Rawls on rookie deals still, that is very attainable

This. Bettis was in shape for his size. He could carry the rock 30 times a game if neccessary as the focal point of an offense with little need for breathers between. Lacy was MAYBE that as a rookie but has no capability to be so.

What the hell does in shape for his size mean? LOL

Lacy has been given consistent carries because he plays in an offense with a HOF QB predicated on the pass

Lacy had a couple of bouts with asthma as well, often triggered by the cold/wet air plus exertion. A couple of times he was on a pitch count and a couple of time he took himself out
