I like this

Keep him motivated, you'd have to assume he's at a better weight right now

Wouldn't make that assumption. Fat Ed is Fat Ed. He likes his china food.... But a Fat Ed is still a good Ed. Just gotta stay healthy.
He can be fat and still at a better weight Laughing

240 is not skinny, but it isn't 270

Welp

Super conflicted. I hate him on Seattle cause I still think he's a good player, but I did not want him back at $5.55m.

I'm fine with him leaving at that price. He seemed to only care about food and video games in GB.

I don't know what's funny. Eddie is what he is. He is fat. He will not be the same size when he was a rookie. The last two/three years have shown that hes either unwilling, or unable to lose the weight. However, a fat Eddie Lacy is a good running back. The injuries are a bigger concern than the weight.

And a player with motivational issues is the exact last person you want to invest significant amount of money into. Seattle can have him.

I like the signing and am hopeful that he'll be in shape in time. He got a nice deal, he's joining a Super bowl contender and he's facing some competition in Rawls, Prosise and Collins. He should be motivated. He's still at a good age, too.

We'll see. I'll take him over all those vets on the market, for sure.

In all fairness, he's always played on a superbowl contender, so that shouldn't change anything as far as motivation.

Lol Eddie Lacy is looking for a team to give him a lot of money.

So what does he do, but show up to meetings weighing 267.

Yea but now he's on an actual Super Bowl contender. Ya know?

I don't have high hopes for this signing at all. Was really hoping we'd sign Jamaal Charles as I felt he'd be the perfect compliment to what we already have.

The money says Lacy will start, but I don't think Rawls is going to make that an easy task and I think Lacy becomes an overpaid, overweight backup.

Or maybe Tom Cable is bringing in a cheap developmental option for one of our guard spots Think

How is a 1 year deal significant? : lol: In today's NFL 5.5M for a potential starter is cheap

It is top 10 at the position. I don't know if I'd call it significant in the grand scheme of things, but I also don't know what Eddie Lacy has done to earn any negotiation leverage to strike a deal like that.

With that said, it's only 3M guaranteed, so for all we know the additional 2.5M is hard-to-reach incentives.

It boggles my mind that a pro athlete, without a contract, can let mouth-pleasure constantly hijack his career.

Maybe they can try him at OG?
