Not sure how I feel about that.

He does have the size and ball skills we lack back there. I wonder if his lack of long speed shows up more than we think in practice.

We need help at both desperately so as long as he gets a real shot at one of them I am cool.

Did they say this IS happening? Or it's an option?

Can you post a link to this? I didn't see anything about it on campbells twitter.

RT @AaronLemingNFL: Per @Rich_Campbell, the #Bears plan to try DB Deiondre Hall at S this year. Many wondered if he'd eventually land there after the draft.

I think this could be again a plan to be able to stop TEs...they have killed us year in year out since Urlacher left...we need someone with size and coverage skills who can match up with these hybrids.

It is on the backend of the most recent podcast.

It sounded more like speculation because of how many CBs are on the roster.

Wherever he can be productive. Move him, Fuller, whoever. Get the 5 most talented DBs in the field in the nickel you can.

If his skillset fits FS or SS better than CB, make the move ASAP. Players need to fit their role to be successful.

That's part of the reason I'm so high on Obi Melifonwu..... With his size and speed, he could even potentially cover Gronkowski like freaks of nature.

I'm surprised this isn't Fuller but with the volume of guys we have at boundary corner it was gonna be someone. Frankly, it NOT being Fuller calls even more into question his future in Chicago IMO. Honestly Hall's biggest problem last year was turning around and finding the ball. Not as big an issue at safety. I also agree with his condor-like arms he's a good matchup down the middle for seam stretching TEs.

I agree that the size and length will be huge against TEs and the speed questions won't be as big.

So can we update the thread to this title? It makes it seem like Hall IS going to be a S and that's false.

Good. Now I hope people stop obsessing over the idea of moving a CB to S like it's this super-genius idea.

My guess is the he gets reps in OTAs and/or camp to see if this is a viable option.
