Let's assume we don't sign any more FAs. Who are the current projected starters on the line?

DE1 - Ricky-Jean Francois?
NT - Stacy McGee?
DE2 - Terrell McClain?

other options:

Matt Ioannidis at DE or NT
Anthony Lanier at DE
Phil Taylor at NT

Right now we haven't resigned Ziggy Hood so he's isn't on the roster. Basically our entire depth chart of Dlineman I would consider to be backup caliber players. What the heck are we going to do? We literally need 3 new starters for the Dline. This draft isn't exactly stacked with 3-4 DLineman prospects either.

I know Baker had his lazy moments, but I don't really understand how we plan on replacing him. McGee and McClain are rotation guys not starters. We also don't have a single guy in the unit that I would call a pass rusher.

What a disaster.

Tbd. We might still sign a better option at NT and we still might draft a DL who will start over one of those guys.

I can see Phil Taylor starting at NT McClain at DE and Lanier .

But reality is will sign either Hankins or Logan and draft a starting DE if not Murphy would start within after his suspension

I wonder how big role Anthony Lanier will play on this year's DL. I've heard he's really come a long way since we acquired him.

It's going to be a bigger disaster on defense than last year unless Tomsula can perform miracles. Actually, scratch that. We fired Barry, so it can only get better, even after getting rid of Baker.

Because it's not about wining on the field. You are caught in his Matrix. The Chiseler wins by making and keeping his money. And that's all that ever matters and he's already won. Sorry Neo

Bennie Logan at NT with a rookie at DE and McClain opposite him.

Dontari Poe visiting the jags today, visited the colts over the weekend.

I sure wish we'd meet w/ him even if it's just a 1 year deal like Pryor Sad

Free Agency isn't over and this year's DL draft class looks like a historic one. We could draft 2 starters in this year's draft even if it's not a 1st or 2nd round pick.

Oh, you've got to be kidding me:

http://www.espn.com/blog/nflnation/post/_/id/233484/as-redskins-re-shuffle-line-interest-remains-in-bennie-logan-others

Quote:
The Redskins view Terrell McClain as a nose tackle in base and a tackle in nickel. Hes not big -- he's listed at 302 pounds -- but he relies on quickness and footwork to penetrate.
...
Is he worth $5 million a year? Well find out. He played two years in Houston when the Texans ran a 3-4, and one reason he signed with Dallas was because it played a 4-3. He often lined up over the center in the Cowboys front.

A 302 NT in a 3-4?! WTF? I don't care if it's a one-gap or two-gap system. You cannot have a guy who weighs the same as a center, much less NFL guards, being your anchor point.

Look, if we're switching to a 4-3, fine. If not, this is an absolute joke.

Quote:
Saying hello (part 2): Stacy McGee will play end in base and tackle in Washington's nickel package.

So McGee replaces Baker, not McClain. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! Rolling Eyes

Oh, and for a chaser?

Quote:
Saying goodbye: One NFC defensive coach had Chris Baker rated above both Logan and Hankins; hes highly familiar with all three players, too.

That's what was said all throughout the offseason last year. How many rookie DL did you see performing at an historic level?
