DE Tanoh Kpassagnon apparently met with, and was worked out by the Steelers

They also met with NT Glen Antoine at Idaho Pro Day. He put up 37 reps at 337lbs. Monster.

Super Freak! It will be interesting to see if he adds some weight and plays DE or sheds some pounds and plays OLB. He's listed at 289lbs but looks lean given his 6'7" frame. I'd guess DE but he is a freak of an athlete that could be a Joker type. A really interesting prospect but may take the 3rd Comp pick to land him. Rather pricey for a project.

Getting good reviews in work outs. May not be as big of a project as some think. But yea, agree, he's more grow in to a 3/4 DE than the other way around.

Put on the tape or his combine workout. There is no way this kid plays 5-tech. Those skinny legs and no sand in the pants. He would be destroyed as a 3-4 end. If the Steelers are looking it is as an Edge player. He would be a 3-4 OLB, but mostly a traditional DE in our 4 man fronts.

Everyone still focuses on the 3-4. However we are in sub packages 70% of the time and most of those are 4 man fronts.

That's because 69% out of the 70% that's in a Nickel. One would HOPE with the right players the 3-4 would become more prevalent. Playing the Nickel that often has proven to be ineffective and a recipe for defeat.

I would argue that the nickel def is ineffective because we don't have the right personnel for it to be effective. Our 5-tech are asked to either play interior DL or rush the passer on the edge. They do not excel in either roll. Then sometimes when they ask our OLBs to come up and play with their hand in the dirt teams run on the edge and push them around. I don't have to note the problems with our secondary.

I think sub packages are a necessity in today's NFL. However, we need the right people. I would personally be thrilled if we drafted Kpassagnon as an edge rusher. If he panned out he would be great piece .
