#Bears agreed to terms on a one-year deal worth up to $4m with WR Kendall Wright, source said.

Another signing I like.

Had his best years with Loggains. Guess that takes us out of the running for Patterson.

Pro: it's 1 year, Loggains is familiar, he's a better player than Patterson

Con: he's played a full year once and a team that desparately needs WR's let him walk away

He fell out of favor in Tennessee, but he is a true slot guy who had 96 catches under Dowell Loggains.

Listen, the Bears are not going to have a #1 WR, but at least right now they have a diverse skill set in the WR room. Wheaton get deep, Wright can work the slot and Meredith has size and good hands.

Does he return kicks?

Because that's the only reason I was interested in Patterson

Underrated player. Super quick and runs great routes. Put up a big game on Pat Pete 2 years ago but fell out of favor with TEN new system. He's going to be a huge help to move the chains. Would not shock me if he leads the team in receptions.

Sign Patterson too. Why not? Make these guys battle it out.

Before we signed Wheaton I thought Wright might have been an option but I didn't think we would bring him in after that...if we can get Wright's head on straight he would be by a distance the best slot on our team...have to think Royal will be released really soon.

Exactly. At worst Patterson becomes our best special teams player, I'd sign him for $3mil a year and most, if not all, guaranteed to get him.

Wright really looked like he was going to be something in 2013-2014. Since then the wheels seem to have fallen off. This feels like an even replacement for Royal. Both are slot targets who flashed early in their careers but who may have lost something due to injuries.

Always liked wright, though. Was sad we took Shea instead.

My guess at the WR core

Meredith
White
Wright
Wheaton, will play a lot especially when White gets hurt
Draft Pick
Bellamy, Foxy loves him on teams

I feel like you insert "draft pick" at every damn position. We don't have 20 picks Windy. You already posted "draft pick" at CB and S not even 24 hours ago, guess that's already not happening.

I think he does have a point at WR tho...we badly need to add some playmaking ability on this team...I'm hoping we pick Engram in round 2 to play as a flex TE then come back in round 3 and pick up Dede Westbrook...Glennon won't survive with what we have right now and teams will load the box to stop Howard in every game.

I have said insert draft pick at WR, S and CB.

That is 3 positions and we have 7 picks.

My guess is we are drafting a player at all 3 of those positions without much doubt.
