If anything, this will be the beardliest line in the league.
Jokes aside, these two signings may not seem like much to most but they really are huge upgrades for this team. |

Reiff gets an $11M signing bonus, a $6.2M guaranteed base in 2017 and $9.1M guaranteed base in 2018. Total guarantee of $26.3M. _________________

Wow, I suddenly feel much better about our chances next season. As others have mentioned, this draft is deeper in guards than tackles, so we did well to sign two of the top guys to reasonable contracts. Can draft some mid-round developmental guys for depth and hopefully future starters. _________________ However, you're right that it did improve a bit. I'm just not sure I trust our coaching staff to develop offensive lineman. |

I think any OL position could be targeted to upgrade over a potential starting five of Reiff, Boone, Berger, Sirles/Easton/Clemmings, and Remmer. And it doesn't have to be with pick #48.
The seemingly apparent upgrade might be RG. But perhaps an OT should be drafted to replace one of the new OTs if one of them 'busts' in/after 2017?
The OL of greatest scouted value available at 48 .... or later .... should be drafted to develop for a future starting role; e.g. C, RG, or RT. |

I'd rather find a G who can step in and play right away. This would allow for a true competition at center between Easton and Berger and could potentially keep Clemmings and Sires at tackle only.
Might be hard to find a day one starter after pick 48.
My opinion is based upon the RB outlook. If we dont sign a capable veteran RB, that likely becomes the top priority. Defensively, depth is the only need. _________________

One of Feeney, Moton, or Dawkins should be available at 48. I'd love to get any of them. _________________

No way we are picking Dawkins at 48... Not a chance. That would be a reach. We won't reach. _________________

In the end, not a horrible move. Remmers may not be flashy, but he performed better than any of our tackles last year, and did so in a more difficult situation. I'm not bothered by what he received for payment either, because the inflation of free agency set his price higher, and in the end it is worth paying more to get increased production.
Having two tackles, albeit tackles with some flaws, does allow us to have an intact unit right now, and frees us up in the draft. A RG still sounds like the best option, but I feel like we can realistically go out and take the best lineman regardless of individual position, which will benefit this team in the long run.
Don't complain people! We got two tackles from a less than stellar free agent class, and they are both better than what we had last year, so that's a win, or at least a step in the right direction. _________________

The 2 OT signings needed to be made.
We should add another BPA OL at #48
Could be a potential.IOL _________________

We're paying a lot of money to a lot of average players on this line.
Reiff, Boone and Remmers are nothing special. Will they be good enough to help push us back into the playoffs? _________________

We were 8-8 last year with T.J. Clemmings and whoever else started at RT.
Have to believe those two could of helped us win 1 more game.
I think we will be fine. I have my hopes set at a playoff run. I'm sure Spielman thinks it must be. His job might be on the line for it. _________________
