Just read it's $1.4 million guaranteed base and $1.6m in incentives.

Awesome signing.

He's no Woodhead or Burkhead but more similar to Riddick, Procise, Dion Lewis. Big fan.

Great signing. He was the preferred edge defender all along.

Great signing. He should fit in perfectly with this defense.

Am I the only one who thinks that Barron should be played at safety with Mo Alexander manning the other spot? I have a hard time picturing Barron play well as a 3-4 ILB, not to mention I think we'd be able to get a quality ILB a lot later in the draft than another safety who'd be expected to start.

Barwin is a great signing. Perfect SOLB for the scheme. Should be able to mentor the young guys. Great locker room guy too.

I'm not totally against that idea, though I do like the idea of Joyner at FS, it would bolster our strength at CB to leave him there. Honestly, if we could trade Barron to Cleveland (or a similar 4-3 team), I'd probably go for that. He doesn't strike me as a typical ILB in a 3-4.

I'd imagine we're just about done with free agency. Don't believe we have a lot cap room left.

I think Barron can handle being an ILB in this defense, but Wade may prefer him at safety. Personally, I prefer Joyner at FS.

Im fine with that too. I guess the biggest thing that I don't like is the idea of us drafting or needing to draft a starting safety. I've been on board for having Joyner play safety but it seemed like the previous regime never had that in mind. Who knows what this new staff has in mind, but like I said... I really don't wanna be drafting a safety when we have so many other more important things to be focusing on with our limited quality draft picks

I think this seems like the ideal defense we could go with. A lot depends on how Wade wants to use Joyner and Brockers. Joyner can stay at the nickel and Brockers can play NT with Easley manning the other DE spot.

We could grab an ILB late in this draft and probably sign a NT for the vet minimum.

DE Donald
NT
DE Brockers
Olb Barwin
Ilb
Ilb Ogletree
Olb Quinn
Cb Tru
Nickel Cb Gaines
CB Webster
SS Barron
FS Joyner

Alexander at SS and Barron at the other ILB.
