I'm told Russell Okung has agreed to go the #Chargers on a 4-year deal for $53M. Guaranteed $25M

I'm pretty sure this makes him the highest paid(per year) tackle in football. If it doesn't, he's close.

What in the wide world of sports.

Well, Adios King Dunlap.

But I'm still trying to figure out where they found the cap room for this; they were up against it.

Unless an announcement of a Melvin Ingram contract extension is forthcoming too that takes his '17 cap number well below the franchise tag.

I'd like to see the exact details of this contract, especially how "guaranteed" the $25 million is.

If Over The Cap is correct, Trent Williams at 13.2 per year is the highest paid(on yearly average) OT in football.

This deal puts Okung at 13.25.

If you're referring to fingers on his glove, the answer is yes.

Taken to the Cleaners by the player himself. Okung has a career after football.

I believe that they freed up 20+ million from releasing Stevie Johnson, DJ Fluker, and Brandon Flowers. Addae's number may have brought it a little bit down, but I think they have enough for this year to accommodate a signing like Okung. And I'm hoping that Ingram's extension is announced soon as well. But like I said, I would like to see the details of the contract since Ed Maguire does a great job of not putting us in a tough spot.

First impression is this may be the worst deal of the day thus far.

He's an average left tackle. You see how much average left tackles get paid now.

Who's left in the LT derby? Beachum and Clady?
