Well Corey Davis won't be an Eagle, but we just got the best WR we've had since T.O.

With what amounts to two 1 year deals, I wouldn't rule out anything in round 1.

Can't rule out WR round 1. We still don't have a long-term answer.

I don't think we'll take a WR in the first, but possibly in the 2nd or 3rd. Somebody we can develop for next year.

I keep reading about the large sum of cap space that will be cleared up for us next year, can anyone enlighten me in this regard?

Torrey Smith will be back depending on how he plays.

Either Jordan Matthews or Alshonn will be back probably, but not both.

This move has made me so happy. We finally have a legit WR who can dominate a game, it has been so long since that has been the case.

Cutting Barwin just opened up 10 + mill in 2018
Peters is due over 12 in 2018. He could be gone then
Daniel's 8 mill is able to be cut next year.
If Kendricks and/or Kelce are traded that comes with big 2018 savings too

Should mean we're able to re-sign Alshon, right? I want to know the long term prospects of retaining him.

If he plays we'll, worst case scenario, they franchise him. You gotta look at this as a 1 year deal with a 2nd year team option.

i dont like the 1 year deal. Seems like a move you make if you need to win this coming year. Doug has a second year QB in his second year as coach. He should be fine especially after a 7-9 year. Should be no hot seat concerns for him for a year or two at least.

I wonder if Howie is on a more prove it quicker timeline which makes this kind of move end up happening even though the eagles should be building long term around their young QB not hiring guns for the upcoming year.

It's really a 1 year deal with a team option (franchise tag) for a 2nd year if it works out. So we have 2 years to work out a longer deal. It's the perfect contract.
Edit: I see Pete already made the same comparison.

what does our cap look like next year? I cant ever get overthecap or sportrac to ever load.

ok looked it up right now with barwins cut and torrey's option should be 156 million on the books for next year and cap probably being 175 after the increase.

I wouldn't worry about next year's Cap. Howie has shown his ability to circumvent that numerous times. Off the top of my head almost certainly these players and their salaries probably won't be Eagles.

Peters, Sproles, Celek, R. Mathews ( if not this year), Kelce?, Daniels.

What about Vinny Curry? Trading Barwin opens up a lot of playing time for him and I can't imagine him staying past next season if he doesn't live up to his contract.
