Jets probably think hes gonna be their starting LT.

After we finish 2-14 next season Maccagnan and Bowles are gonna be out of jobs.

If they are actively tanking, which it seems they may be, then I would assume Mac was told he is safe.

Bowles could be fired tomorrow and we wouldn't miss a beat

Seriously though he's not very good. Room to get better but he should absolutely not be starting at LT.

This is Mac way to build a team, by giving Ijalana 11 MILLION bucks. This has to be a joke.

Let's calm down. Ben Ijilana is not the answer at LT or RT. Given the market this is the going rate for OL. Brian Winters is looking more and more like a good deal at this point. Let Maccagnan/Bowles complete their moves before tearing them apart. FOR NOW!!!

Mac is safe and even though this deal is legit horrible, I agree though man we have to trust this process. I don't care if we tank. This ship has been sinking since 2011 and weve done nothing but draft terribly and get bridge options. This is what happens when you try and win the FA period every year and your scouting department and GM used to absolutely suck. Its going to take time but this franchise might actually get it right for once, after this season.

They should have let this scrub walk, jeez the Jets can't figure out how to build a team ever.

This team won't be worth watching next season.

I heard the QBs in next draft are pretty good, so maybe for the better of the long haul the Jets should just plan to tank...

Gotta see how the contract is structured, im assuming all the money is upfront and makes cutting him next year very easy.

But I also wouldnt of minded if they let him go, but they are prob looking at him as insurance.

EWWWWW!

Would've much rather a rookie LT, I don't care if it's a weak class. Could've had Johnson, Morton, Wheeler, Skipper etc... why waste any money on him?

And why do you think a rookie LT is off the table...?

For the last two months all a read on all the Mock drafts, is who they all wanted in the FA period. Now that the Jets are doing nothing in the FA market, they say now we don't want FA. What a bunch of phonies

Because you don't pay back ups five million dollars, even if he can play multiple and I use that term loosely positions. Are we going to red shirt a LT? Shell only played due to the injuries last year. I think it's quite obvious that we're going for the continuity angle with this line.

I would ask, what round would we target a LT now that we have Ben under contract?

We traded for Ryan Clady and then desperately tried to trade up for Laremy Tunsil. If the Jets want one of the LT prospects, Ijalana isnt going to stop them from taking him.
