Former Jags S Johnathan Cyprien is going to do a deal today after 4pm with the Titans, per source.

Neat.

I was pretty high on Adams but this should be a good snag for us. Wonder if Adams ends up there... yikes.

Cyprien is a far better LOS safety than a center fielder, so that means Byard will be our FS next year.

Hope it's cheap and hope it doesn't necessarily mean we wouldn't consider Adams if he's there

The way we rotate players Adams could still be in play

Tom Gower on Twitter mentioned he could be a replacement of Daimion Stafford. He acknowledges that most Day 1 signings aren't "cheap", but also mentions that Cassel was a Day 1 signing last year.

I would actually very much like Cyprien in a Stafford role, depending on the price.

Agree, but I'm guessing it'll be a good chunk of change given it's his 2nd contract. Seems like he's a major liability in coverage, so fingers crossed that it's more a prove-it deal.

From what I have seen of his play he is the box safety but Lebeau likes to switch guys around. Byaird at FS?

Some day one signings can be cheap. I think one year we resigned a long snapper and people were going wild. Lol

But I always liked him. I thought he was pretty good coming out of Florida Atlantic I believe it was.

Quality signing. Shouldn't break the bank. The money will give us an idea if they view him as an every down player or a rotational player.

Cassel was a day 1 signing last year.

Not going to pretend to be excited about adding a safety that's only value is in an area that we were already solid in while bringing nothing to the table when it comes to fixing the absolute biggest weakness on the team.

Kuharsky noted this could mean Stafford is not coming back... if that's the case this could be more depth/rotational and that Adams or Hooker could still be in play.

I think everyone's reaction is....
"Ok, that was cool appetizer. A know the Chips and salsa are cool. Bring on the meat!"

Lol

Cool signing. Adds quality to the team. Ready for some impact players though..
